教材分析 The text depicts the beautiful scenery and customs of the Irish countryside from the perspective of a traveler. The Irish countryside is famous for its beautiful and fresh scenery and historical and cultural characteristics. This description is in harmony with the previous introduction to the historical and cultural attractions of London and other cities in the UK, and a relatively complete depiction of the European cultural characteristics that harmoniously integrate history and modern, urban and rural. This article is a description of the scene, the author from the traveler's point of view of the Irish countryside, my own experience and local customs, rich content, beautiful language, short and pithy. The author vividly describes the beautiful scenery and local customs in sight, smell and taste. Auditory and tactile aspects bring intuitive feelings to people. The hills, sea and mountains are vividly described from the perspective of vision, hearing, touch and smell respectively. The author uses these rich and delicate techniques to describe vividly the fresh and rich cultural atmosphere of the Irish countryside. At the same time, there is a love for the Irish countryside.
学情分析 The target of this class is senior one students, who have acquired a certain reserve of language knowledge and a certain understanding of reading and writing lessons after learning the required textbook. However, students rarely come into contact with scene description articles and are not familiar with the writing style and skills of such articles. Therefore, in the design of this class, students should be guided from the simple to the deep based on the actual situation of students, so that they can read and write in the process of reading and writing.

读前准备及导入新课 Step I Lead in Let's enjoy our trip to Ireland! After getting the information and the meaning of the new words, answer the questions. Arouse their interest in the topic and expand their horizons and spark their interest.
读中环节 Activity1: Read the passage for the first time and discuss the questions in pairs. Activity2: Read the passage for the second time and Identify the paragraph’s introductory sentence(s) and the ending sentence(s). Activity3: Read the passage for the third time and find the senses and places the writer talks about. Activity4:Complete the mind map with different senses in the four places. Activity5: How to write a descriptive passage Skim the text and read the passage quickly , finding out the main information which is useful for writing. Students master the content of the whole passage and are able to learn about the writing skills. Underline the relative clauses that the writer uses to identify the following. Draw the mind map Learn to write good sentences By skimming the passage, they can grasp the main idea and build up a solid foundation for locating the detailed information. Familiarize students with analysis skills. Grasp the main idea and locate the detailed information. Students can have have a better understanding of the structure and language. Ss are able to write with the help of words and expressions learnt from the passage.
读后环节 Activity1: Write on their own. Ask students to exchange their drafts to give feedback. Invite several students to make a presentation. Work in groups and use what they learned to write in this class. Practice their skills for summary and conclusion.
作业 Write a short passage of describing a place you visited; Appreciate your classmates’ good works and try to learn from them. Consolidate the knowledge and skills students have learned in this lesson.
