教材分析 The theme of this unit is "talk about a visit to a historic tourist destination", and this section is called "Take part in a youth project and Talk about history and culture". Students listen to conversations through which students can understand the significance of a historic tourist destination and young people can use what they have learned to express how they feel about Pingyao, a historic tourist destination.The listening text is a dialogue between two tourists when they visit the Pingyao. The dialogue focuses on the functional items of “how to express feelings”, which is used to smoothly express opinions. The purpose of this section is to guide students to understand the history and current situation of Pingyao in their own tourism experiences or from other people’s tourism experiences, explore the historical and cultural values, and be able to express accurately and appropriately in oral communication.
学情分析 Students' oral expression ability is not good, but their ability to acquire listening information is a little short, so they need to learn more listening skills and get a lot of oral exercise. In addition, most students in this class are not familiar with the words in this unit, so some students may feel difficult in the process of listening to the new words, and there will be some difficulties in expressing their own ideas.

读前准备及导入新课 Step I Lead in Questions to lead the topic in Have you ever been to Pingyao, China What do you know about it If you haven’t been there, would you like to go there What would you like to know about it Have a free talk and speak out something about Pingyao. Arouse their interest in the topic and provide basic information for them, which helps them listen to find the answers easily.
听中环节 Activity1: Listen to the conversation and tick the places mentioned. Activity2: Can you tell me some feeling words you know Listen once plete the sentences to describe how the speakers felt. Listen to the key words and tick the words mentioned. After acknowledging the information and the meaning of the new words, learn how to express feelings and emotions. Locate the background information quickly and get Ss ready for the following listening task. Listening again for details enables the students to better understand the listening material and identify the opinions speakers want to express.
听后环节 Activity 1: Work in groups. Imagine one of you has just visited Pingyao. Work in pairs and role-play the conversation below. Then continue the conversation using the expressions in the box. Activity 2: Take turns telling each other about a historic place that you have been to. Find out the useful expressions in the conversation. Use the phrases learnt today to talk about historic place. Enable the students to think creatively based on the information learnt from the listening material. Enable to express their understanding of a historic place.
作业 Read some journals written by some travelers to know about one place that you have been to. Make a comparison with the expressions between you and the author. Consolidate the knowledge and skills students have learned in this lesson.
