教材分析 The theme of the event is "Write a speech". The central topic of this unit is the topic that can make people relaxed, excited, uplifted and have emotional resonance -- music. This lesson involves Reading for Writing, which is a task chain of reading and writing activities. The theme is "Write a speech about how music can change a person's life." In this lesson, questions are designed to interpret speech content, extract text structure and rhetorical device, and display students' work.
学情分析 The target students are Senior One students. This class is an elite class of liberal arts with good English level and strong acceptance ability. After the preparation of lesson 4 and the previous lessons, students have a certain cultural background and knowledge reserve for the introduction of the place to write in this lesson. Students' writing ability is generally poor. Spelling and basic grammar errors often occur in writing, and their ability to revise, evaluate and reflect after writing is weak.
学习 目标与核心素养 Language ability 1. Under the guidance of the question chain, understand the main message of the text -- how music helps the hero overcome the disease. 2. Extract and transfer the speech development structure in the original text, create a speech, and share how music helps you or people around you. 3. Understand the language features of speeches that make full use of rhetorical means to enhance the expression effect, and use rhetorical means to polish their speech language.

What makes the speech impressive After watching videos and getting the information and the meaning of the new words, answer the questions. Arouse their interest in the topic and expand their horizons and spark their interest.
读中环节 Activity1: Read the text quickly, find the anwers to the following questions and catch the clues of the text. Activity2: Analyze the structure. Activity3: Highlight rhetorical devices (修辞格） Activity4: Complete the following sentences related to music, and find out what kind of rhetorical device is used in each sentence. Activity5: Study languages What expressions does Saran use to talk about how music can make us feel How to make your speech coherent Skim the text and read the passage quickly , finding out the main idea and identify the structure of the text. Students master the structure of the whole passage and are able to learn about writing Match the rhetorical devices with each sentences Practise the rhetorical devices with each sentences Following the questions, find out the useful expressions. By skimming the passage, they can grasp the main idea and build up a solid foundation for locating the detailed information. Familiarize students with analysis skills. Guide the students to master the writing tips for a speech and pave the way for writing a speech on their own. Collect words and expressions to write a speech.
读后环节 Activity1: Write on their own. The teacher will guide the students to write the sentences according to what they learned in the class. Activity2: Make summary of language points they have learnt from the passage. Use what they learned in this class to write Read and remember what they have learnt. Practice their skills for writing and conclusion. Consolidate the knowledge they have learnt.
作业 Read the passage again and go over the basic writing steps to write a speech. Revise and polish your speech according to the 3C principle. Deliver the speech to your friends. Consolidate the knowledge and skills students have learned in this lesson.
