一、analysis of the teaching material
The material is from book1 unit6, whose thematic content is man and nature--human and nature live in harmony. My lesson is the first period of the unit. It is an expository article and introduce the scenery, history, building reason , working principle and value of Longji Rice Terraces. The text aims to help students know something about Longji Rice terraces, after that, raise the awareness that we should live in harmony with nature
二、Analysis of the students
My Ss come from senior 1 who study in high spirits. They can get the detail information and summarize the main idea of the text. Besides, they are interested in learning Longji Rice Terraces which is located in Gui Lin- a famous tourist attraction. However, My Ss are shy to express their opinion confidently. They are short of the abilities of critical thinking and logical inference. What’s more, They are unfamiliar with Longji Rice Terraces.
三、Teaching objectives
Linguistic ability: Extract and sort out the basic information about the scenery, history, building reason, working principle and value of Longji Rice Terraces. Learning ability: Work out a PPT to introduce Longji Rice Terraces and show its working principle. Thinking quality: Draw a mind map to show the working principle of Longji Rice Terraces vividly. Cultural awareness: Raise Ss’ awareness that we should live in harmony with nature
