本课时以描述人的外貌为话题，共设计了四个部分的内容。旨在通过本课时的教学使学生掌握“What does he look like ”句型变换不同的人称来询问人的外貌；用英语描述别人的身高，身材和发型，并能学以致用。能用所学的知识描述自己的朋友，喜欢的老师及演员等。
教学目标
1.通过本课时的学习，学生能用“What does he look like ”句型变换不同的人称来询问人的外貌，并能用英语描述别人的身高，身材和发型。例如，当描述发型及五官等要用“He has…” 的句型，描述身高和身材等用“He is…”的句型。
2.通过本课时的学习，学生能用英语思考，并能熟练的描述他人外表。
教学重难点
通过本课时的学习，学生能用英语思考，并能熟练的描述他人外表。
教学内容
本课时的重点是每个部分一直围绕句型“What does he look like ”变换不同的人称来询问人的外貌，同时将难点描述人的身高、身材和发型的句型穿插在四个部分中，帮助学生熟练练习本课时知识点。
教学过程
Step1：Revision （复习）
T: How many people are there in your family
Who are they
Is your mother beautiful
Is your father tall
Is your brother short
......
【教学设计说明】本课时主要话题是描述人的外貌，因此从复习家庭成员的名称入手，并用已经学过的形容词对家庭成员进行简单的描述。进而自然的过渡到本单元的话题，这样以旧带新能帮助学生扩展思维。
Step2：Lead in
Present the new words: tall, short, heavy, thin, medium height, medium build.
【教学设计说明】新单词教学是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一，学生通过学习新单词，能提前获悉新知识的内容。
Step3 :Presentation(呈现新知识）
Show the pictures of different persons and help Students to understand the new words. Help them to describe the people in the pictures by using “What does he/she look like ”. and “He/she’s (of) …”.
2. Present some pictures of different haircuts. Help Students to understand the new words: long hair, short hair, curly hair, straight hair and so on.
Help them to describe persons by using “What do they look like ”,
“they have ….”, “ What does LiuYifei look like”, “What does the girl look like ”and “she has ....”
【教学设计说明】本部分为本课时的内容核心，不仅概括了本课时的重点，还将基本句型一 一呈现。通过句子的罗列，使学生关注人称的变化。同时利用明星的高矮胖瘦和发型的图片来教学句型“What does he look like ”以及变换不同的人称来询问人的外貌，教学直观形象贴近学生的生活，可以使学生了解本课时的内容，又加深了学生的印象。
Step4 :Summary
The teacher summarize the usage of how to describe peoples’ appearances.
(高矮胖瘦……）主语 + be + _adj___
（有……头发）主语 + have/has + __adj__ + __n.__
【教学设计说明】此环节学生通过观察描述身高体重和发型的句型，着重帮助学生归纳：身高体重be动词，长在身上用have/has，这样的观察归纳环节，可以帮助学生提高自我归纳知识点的能力。
Step5 :Free talk
①T: One of the people in the picture is your friend. Describe your friend. Your partner will find him/her.
②Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.
【教学设计说明】此环节是让学生运用所学句型来进行操练，有利于巩固所学句型。
Step6 :Exercise
Let students do some exercises with the correct words in the box. Then the teacher checks the answers one by one.
【教学设计说明】此处的即学即练环节，不仅可以帮助学生练习当堂课所教的知识点，同时教师也可以根据学生的完成情况来判断学生的掌握程度，及时给予学生最快速的指导。
