Why are so many people so afraid to fail It is because no one tells us what to do after failure(失败)so that failure becomes an experience(经历)that means growth. We forget that failure is necessary and every person has the right (权力) to fail.
Most parents work hard at stopping failure or protecting their children from the knowledge(知识) that they have failed. One way is to lower standards(标准). When a child finishes making a table, the mother tells the child that it is “perfect” even though it can’t stand. Another way is to blame(责怪)others. If John fails in the exam, his teacher is not so good.
There is a problem with the two ways. It makes a child unprepared for life in the real world.The young need to learn that no one can be best at everything, and no one can win all the time, andthat it’s possible to enjoy a game even when you don’t win.
