Throwing Tomatoes-Spain
Spain takes the "tomato fight" to a whole new level. But the tomatoes are being thrown, not eaten.The festival takes place during the last Wednesday in August. Trucks carry tomatoes to the square. People rush to the tomatoes and throw them at the crowd.
Rolling Cheese—England

A Chinese man is one of the biggest men in the world right now. He is Jack Ma (Ma Yun), the Chairman(董事局主席 ) of Alibaba Group. On Sept. 19, 2014, Alibaba went public (上市) and raised $25 billion (十亿). Ma, a former English teacher, has become the richest man in China.
Born in 1964 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Ma grew up as a happy kid. When he was a teenager, he wanted to learn English. Every morning, he got up at 5 a.m., rode his bike for 40 minutes to a hotel near the West Lake and talked with foreign tourists in English. He did it for nine years, rain or shine.
The experience made him an excellent English speaker and also opened his eyes to the outside world. In 1994, Ma Yun heard about the Internet. And on a trip to the US in 1995, someone showed the Internet to Ma for the first time. He searched for the word "beer” on Yahoo, and found that there was nothing there about China. Seeing the chance, Ma returned to China and set up a website called China Pages without even knowing much about computers.
Four years later, Ma, his wife and his friends set up Alibaba in Hangzhou. He believed in the Internet business potential (潜力) when few other Chinese did. Alibaba has developed into the world's largest e-commerce company (电子商务公司) up to now, owning popular shopping websites like Taobao and Tmall.

Imagine the situation. You are driving along a desert or on a mountain. You have no idea where you are. You passed the last house two hours ago. Then your car breaks down. It is night and it is cold. You have no mobile phone. What do you do Well, next time take a GPS with you. This invention may be able to help you. It is a device (装置) which uses satellites(卫星 ) to find the user's position (位置). GPS, which means Global Positioning System, is a small radio receiver. It looks like a mobile phone. You can hold it in your hand, or put in your pocket. There are three parts of the Global Positioning System. The first part is the receiver. You can hold it in your hand, or have it fixed into your car, plane, etc. The second part is a group of satellites orbiting the Earth. The receiver contacts at least four of the satellites and calculates (计算) its position. The third part of the system is a network of ground stations. They are all over the world. They control the satellites and make sure they are working well.
Some people think that in the future the GPS will be as common as the mobile. They are becoming cheaper and more and more accurate (精确的). There are also new uses for the GPS. Perhaps they will become like watches. Everyone will have one and you will never be lost again.
