1. Look at 1a, try reading it, then listen carefully to the recording and translate.
2. Please read and remember these words by yourselves.
3. Please read aloud the small dialogue in textbook 1b and listen carefully to the recording. Number the three dialogues in the order you hear them.
4. Have two or three students give their answers and the teacher check them.
5. Complete the pairing activity in textbook 1c. Please listen to the recording again and practice the dialogue above.
6. Invite three or four groups of students to demonstrate to the entire class.
7. Require students to complete the following questions within 2 minutes. Students should provide answers and the teacher should check and correct them.

1. Please read the ordinal words in box 2a first, then listen to the recording and correct your pronunciation. Then follow the recording and read them three times, and then read and remember these words yourself.
2. Please listen to the recording, watch 2a, and circle the ordinal words you hear to complete the task of 2b.
3. Have students say their answers and then play the recording again to check the answers.

序数词
1序数词的定义
表示事物顺序的数词叫作序数词。
2序数词的形式
(1)从第一到第三的序数词为独立的特殊形式,即 first,second,third
(2)从第四到第十九的序数词,一般是在相应的基数词的词尾加-th 构成。特别注
意:第五fifth,第八 eighth,第九 ninth,第十二 twelfth。
(3)从“第二十"”到“第九十”这些整十的序数词,其相应的基数词都是以y结
尾,序数词一般是把基数词词尾的y变成ie,再加-th,如: 第二十 twentieth,第
四+ fortieth等。
(4)表示“几十几”的两位数变序数词时,只将个位数改成序数词,如:第二十-
twenty-first第九十八ninety-eighth 等
3序数词的用法
(1)序数词前一般要加定冠词 the 表示顺序
例:The Yellow Riveris the second longest river in China.黄河是中国第二长河
(2)序数词常用作名词的定语,但当名词前已有形容词性物主代词等限定词时,则
不再加 the。
例:her fourth birthday她的第四个生日
(3)表示英语中的分数时,分子用基数词,写在前面,分母用序数词,写在后面
当分子超过1时,分母用的序数词后要加-S。
例: 1/3 one third 2/5 two fifths
(4)序数词前有时也可用不定冠词a/an,这时不再表示在具体范围内的”第几”
而是表示在原有基础上的“又一个,另一个”
例:I think I must do it a second time.我想这件事我必须再做一次。(已做过一次)
(5)表示编号时,常把基数词放在名词后面来表示顺序,相当于“the+序数词+名
词"
例: Lesson Five= the fifth lesson 第五课
名词所有格
语中有些名词特别是表示有生命特征的事物的名词,可以加-S 表示所属关系,名词的这种形式称为名词所有格。
情况及规律:
A.单数名词后加-s构成所有格
B.复数名词以s或es结尾,后只加“-”构成所有格
C.以s结尾的人名,后只加“ ' ”构成所有格
D.复数名词不以s或es结尾,后加-s构成所有格
E.两人或多人共有同一件物品时,只在最后一个人后加-'s构成所有格
F.两人或多人分别所有的物品则在每个人后都要加-'s构成所有格
G.动、植物和无生命特征的名词的所有格,使用介词of来表示所属关系
H.“数量词/冠词/some/aw/no/few...+名词+of+名词所有格”表示双重所有格

4. Students read and memorize the dialogue in 3b.
5. Complete the task of 3c. Ask other classmates about their birthdays and ages in the group, and then sort them in ascending order. Finally, let two groups of students demonstrate.
