Toni Morrison was an American writer who received the Nobel Prize in Literature. More than half of the world’s oceans have changed greatly in color over the past 20 years, with human-caused climate change as the likely cause, according to the study published in the journal Nature. Oceans around the equator(赤道),in particular, have become greener, a trend that cannot be explained by natural, year-to-year variability(变化性)alone, reflecting changes in their ecosystems.
The ocean’s color changes based on what’s found in its upper layers. Bluer oceans tend to have little life, while greener oceans have more phytoplankton(浮游植物). Phytoplankton are the base of the ocean food web. In a balanced ecosystem, they serve as fuel for zooplankton and fish, which are eaten by larger fish, seabirds and marine mammals.
Nevertheless, the change in color has indicated a change in the ecosystem. While some areas are likely to have less phytoplankton, others will have more. These kinds of shifts could have ripple effects throughout the entire ocean ecosystem.
To determine whether this trend was related to climate change, researchers compared two ocean-color models which simulated how the oceans would respond under two conditions: one with added greenhouse gases and one without. The results predicted in the greenhouse gas model aligned(一致)almost exactly with what the researchers found from real-world data---within 20 years, about half of the oceans obviously shifted in color.
Dutkiewicz said she was not surprised at this finding. “But still I found the results overwhelmingly alarming; and there is another wake-up call that human-caused climate change has significantly impacted the earth system,” she said. “All changes are causing an imbalance in natural ecosystems. Such imbalances will only get worse over time if our oceans keep heating.” she added.
32. What does the new study mainly show
A. The color of the oceans varies with the seasons.
B. Oceans are turning greener due to climate change.
C. Ocean ecosystems have become more and more fragile.
D. Human activities are the main cause of climate change.
33. What can we infer from paragraph 2
A. Greener oceans are more beneficial to fish than blue ones.
B. Phytoplankton play a fundamental role in ocean ecosystems.
C. The number of phytoplankton is in decline in most oceans.
D. Phytoplankton are vital for fighting against climate change.
34. How did researchers conduct their experiment
A. By exploring the waters covered by phytoplankton.
B. By referring to previous data about greenhouse gases.
C. By analyzing the source of greenhouse gas emissions.
D. By comparing ocean-color models in different conditions.
35. Why does the author mention Dutkiewicz in the last paragraph
A. To offer solutions to ocean heating.
B. To show the changes in natural ecosystems.
C. To stress the urgency of dealing with climate change.
D. To state the importance of the ocean to human beings.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
A dandelion(蒲公英)kept in my dictionary always reminds me of my lunchtimes with my mother.
When I was in the third grade, I was picked to be the princess in the school play, and for weeks my mother had practised my lines(台词)so hard with me. But no matter how easily I delivered them at home, as soon as I stepped onstage, every word disappeared from my head. Finally, my teacher took me aside. She explained that she had written a narrator’s(旁白)part to the play, and asked me to switch roles.
I didn’t tell my mother what had happened when I went home for lunch that day. But she sensed my pain, and instead of suggesting we practice my lines, she asked if I wanted to walk in the yard.
It was a lovely spring day and the rose vine(藤蔓)was turning green. Under the huge trees, we could see yellow dandelions popping through the grass in bunches, as if a painter had touched our landscape with a little bit of gold. I watched my mother casually bend down by one of the dandelions. “I think I’m going to dig up all these weeds,” she said, suddenly pulling a flower up by its roots. “From now on, we’ll have only roses in this garden.”
“But I like dandelions,” I protested(抗议). “All flowers are beautiful---even dandelions.” My mother looked at me seriously. “Yes, every flower has its own beauty, doesn’t it ” she asked thoughtfully. I nodded, feeling pleased that I had won her over. “And that is true of people too,” she added. “Not everyone can be a princess. Hence, there is no shame in that.”
Relieved that she had sensed my pain, I started to cry when I told her what had happened. She listened and smiled.

One Possible Version:
Distinguished teachers and fellow students,
It’s a great honour to stand here to deliver my speech, whose topic is The Scientist I Admire Most. For me, it must be an agricultural scientist, Yuan Longping.
Born in a poor family in Guangxi, Yuan had a strong will to tackle the hunger crisis when he was young. After graduation, he devoted all his life in the laboratory and farm until he developed the hybrid rice successfully. His modesty and diligence, which I admire most, have a deep impact on me.
It is from him that I realize what I am struggling is not just for myself, but the happiness of the whole world.
That’s all. Thanks for your listening!
One Possible Version:
“You will be a beautiful narrator,” she comforted. Upon hearing her comforting words, I held back my bitter tears, lost in deep thought. Hardly had she noticed the sadness on my face soften a little when she caressed my hair, adding, “No one is born to be a princess. Why not take advantage of narrator’s part ” With mother’s encouragement, I began to accept that the narrator’s part was of vital significance. In the following weeks, every lunchtime with my mother witnessed my mighty effort to practice my part of lines. So fast did time pass that the performance day arrived.
Backstage on the night of the performance, I still felt nervous. Sweat oozing from my palms, it was at that very moment that I found a dandelion in my pocket. In a flash, I realized my mother had passed the flower to me, which meant to be in company with me. Consumed with courage and confidence, I concentrated on my part and the performance turned out to be a great success, the audience standing up and bursting into thunderous applause. After the play, I put the dandelion into my dictionary, which was a reminder of our precious lunchtimes, bathed in the soft midday light.

Welcome to the Trailside Museum. (17) Here you can learn about the local animals and their natural environments. There are many animal samples we have on display. One of our most famous is a large black bear. They live in this area but are uncommon. Many fishermen see them during certain seasons, but they stay away from humans. Most are seen near the lake. I think you will see some of these birds the most. (18) You have probably seen many of our local birds already. Most people mainly notice little brown birds and the birds with red chests, but there are many different types of both. My favorite bird is actually the one with the color of the sky. It is a bluebird with a black head. (19) Right now it is spring when many animals are born. There is a lot happening in the forest because of this. However, it is also the wettest season. This is why the north path is closed. (20) Instead, hikers will need to use the higher and older paths through the park.
