课时教学目标
1. 学习动词不定式的用法，掌握表达志愿服务行动的动词短语。
2. 掌握关于表达志愿服务意愿的语句。
教学重点：
1.Key vocabulary:
homeless, raise, alone
a good way to do, raise... for....
2. Key sentences:
a. She decided to try out for a volunteer after-school reading program.
b. You could ask hospitals to let you visit the kids and cheer them up.
c. I’m making some signs to put up around the school.

Grammar Focus: the usage of the infinitive.
教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
Revision: Use the expressions learned in last lesson to review the words and phrases by doing some exercises.
Step 2 Work on Grammar Focus
1. Ask one student to read the sentences and highlight the infinitives and verb phrases;
2. Ask students to summarize the use of infinitive and accumulate phrases.（针对训练习题见上课课件PPT）动词不定式的主要用法：
(1) 作宾语。常见动词有would like, want, help, learn, hope, decide, volunteer。
e.g. I would like to play basketball after class. 下课后我想去打篮球。
(2) 作宾语补足语。常见动词有ask, want, tell, invite, wish, hate。
e.g. My mother asked me to do the housework. 我的妈妈让我做家务。
(3) 作目的状语。
e.g. I do exercise to keep healthy. 我做锻炼以保持健康。
(4) 作后置定语。
e.g. Claire missed a great chance to make a lot of friends.
克莱尔错过了一个交许多朋友的极好的机会。
(5) 动词help 及一些使役动词后面常省略to。
e.g. My mother wouldn’t let me go to the movies. 妈妈不会让我去看电影的。

Step 3 Work on 4a
1. Ask students to figure out the meanings of given phrasal verbs.
2. Ask students to fill in the blanks with the phrasal verbs.
3. Check the answers.

Step 4 Work on 4b
1. Ask the students to look at 4b and fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the verbs in the box.
2. Ask some students to check the answers and read the passage.

1. sick adj. 生病的；有病的
2. raise v. 募集，征集；提起，举起【辨析】arise, raise 和rise: arise 不及物动词，表示“发生；产生；出现”。raise 及物动词，多指把某物从低处升到高处，有时作引申用。rise 不及物动词，表示“（数量或水平上的）增加，提高；上升”，指具体的或抽象的事物由低向高移动。

1. Let students use infinitives to complete the sentences with their own ideas.
2. Ask students to read the sentences and retell the usage of the infinitive.

1. I’d like to volunteer at the food bank and help to give out food to the homeless people.
2. At 12: 00 midnight, I called my friend to ask him an important question.
3. I’m very busy but I could help to paint the house for a few hours tomorrow.
4. Summer vacation is coming, and I want to visit my grandparents in Hunan.
5. I want to travel alone. My parents told me not to do that because I am too young and it is not safe.
教学效果评价
学生了解了动词不定式的用法，并积累了更多与志愿活动相关的动词短语，通过将其运用于补充句子和完成对话中，学会更加准确地表达自身帮助他人的意愿。
