书面表达
Family Matters
I think family is a place where we are loved the most and act the worst. Laughter and tears filled our family life. Despite hardship striking us, family is always a warm harbor.
I remembered the quarrel with my mother about using mobile phone. She didn’t permit me to spend too much time chatting with my friends, browsing Weibo and playing games. But I said study put me under pressure and using phone is a good way for me to relieve anxiety.
After that, I have been thinking about how to deal with those conflicts. As far as I concerned, we’d better understand our parents. The reason for her anger was she was afraid staring at the screen for a long time would harm my health. Besides, we should turn to our parents for a chat whenever we have problems. We can agree on the entire time I use on the phone.
So I figure in family, it is not the problems but how to settle them that matters.

When starting college, most students enjoy a week's stay on campus before classes actually begin. What should you do with that time Below are several tips to ease(使熟悉) yourself into college life.
Participating in Campus Welcome Activities
Most universities host welcome events before the academic year officially begins, including freshmen orientations, campus picnics, and entertainments like concerts.
Participating in such events is a great way to learn about school facilities and understand campus culture: What do students do for fun What are their favorite classes What is the history of your university It can help you observe campus life outside the classroom.
Exploring Campus
Getting to know where essential campus resources are—such as the student advising center, psychological services, and the tutoring center—will make your first few weeks on campus a lot easier, because you won't have to look for them while still getting used to your classes.
Take some time to check out the buildings where your classes will be held. This will prevent you from getting lost in the first few days of classes, and familiarize you with how long it takes to get from place to place. If you're worried about taking classes one after another in different buildings, a quick test run won't hurt. That way, you will avoid potential time delays in getting to your classes.
Starting a Routine
Before getting too excited about all of the fun things you will be able to do during the week, remember that you do have a pretty big schedule change coming up. Starting classes means being in different places at different times, so it's a great idea to start getting used to that routine right this week.
What helps you most is to schedule your sleep. Following the planned time will ensure you have enough sleep to get to those early classes and stay wide awake.
If you have other daily routines, such as exercising or talking on the phone with family, work those into your day-to-day life before classes start so that you get a better idea of how they fit in with your schedule.

In choosing a friend, one should be very careful. A good friend can help you study. You can have fun together and make each other happy. Sometimes you will meet fair-weather friends. They will be with you as long as you have money or luck, but when you are down, they will run away. How do I know when I have found a good friend I look for certain qualities of character, especially understanding, honesty and reliability.
Above all else, I look for understanding in a friend. A good friend tries to understand how another person is feeling. He is not quick to judge. Instead, he tries to think of ways to be helpful. He is also a good listener.
At the same time, however, a good friend is honest. He does not look for faults in others. He notices their good points. In short, a friend will try to understand me and accept me.
Another quality of a friend is reliability. I can always depend on a good friend. If he tells me he will meet me somewhere at a certain time, I can be sure that he will be there. If I need a favor, he will do his best to help me. If I am in trouble, he will not run away from me.
There is a fourth quality that makes friend special. A special friend is someone with whom we can have fun. We should enjoy our lives, and we would enjoy our friendship. That is why I especially like friends who are fun to be with. A good friend likes the same things I like. We share experiences and learn from each other. A good friend has a sense of humor, too. He likes to laugh with me. That is how we share in the joy of being friends. And I know that he is looking for the same quality in me.
When I meet someone that is reliable, honest, and understanding, I know I've found a friend.
56. In the opinion of the writer, what is the most important in choosing a friend
A. A sense of humor. B. Honesty.
C. Reliability. D. Understanding.
57. If you have fair-weather friends,_______.
A. you will be refused when you get into trouble
B. they will give you all that they have when you need help
C. you will become rich
D. you can be sure that you get real friends
58. Good friends need to______.
A. have money or luck B. understand each other's feeling
C. look for faults in others D. always point out each other's mistakes
59. The passage is mainly about______.
A. how to get along with friends B. where to choose friends
C. the qualities of friends D. the importance of having a friend
60. The underlined word “reliability” means someone that you will______.
A. depend on B. turn down C. give in D. pick up
C
There exist cruel wars, fighting and sadness in the world today, so it's not only necessary, but also essential to have a good sense of humor just to help us go through difficult times in our lives. Putting a smile on someone's face when you know they are feeling depressed, as the saying goes, makes me feel good and warms my heart.
How would you feel if you could not joke around with wife, husband, child, co-worker, neighbor, close friend, or even just someone that you are standing in line with at your corner store I am always saying things that make others smile or laugh, even if I don't know the person I'm joking around with. My Grandma always found humor in everything she did, even if it was the hardest job anyone could imagine. This not only relieves stress in any situation, but also is a common manner to speak to others that are around you.
I know of a few people that don't have a funny bone in their bodies, as they say. Everyone around them could be rolling on the floor after hearing a great joke and they would sit there without the slightest smile on their faces. They don't get the joke that makes others laugh. I am, busting a gut while they just sit there, looking at me as if I were from outer space. How can people not get a really funny joke
Laughing is essential to keep your stress levels under control. Without humor, we would find ourselves with a lot of psychological problems, or on a lot of medications to keep us from going crazy. There is too much sadness and bring a little light into our lives.
Therefore, I believe our best medicine is to get together and tell some jokes and have some fun laughing together.
61. According to the passage, humor is necessary and essential because ______.
A. it can pick up people's spirit
B. it can help people get on well with others
C. it can help get rid of the cruelty in the world
D. it makes people more confident
62. From the second paragraph, we can know that _______.
A. the writer is funny and polite
B. family members should play tricks on each other
C. the writer's grandma is humorous
D. we should relieve stress in any situation
63. The underlined phrase “busting a gut” in the third paragraph can replaced by _______.
A. keeping silent B. speaking loud C. laughing hard D. explaining carefully
64. In writing the passage, the author mainly intends to _______.
A. talk about his own understanding of humor
B. encourage people to be humorous in daily life
C. introduce a practical way to get through daily life
D. convince people of the power of being optimistic about life
65. What is the author's attitude towards the present world
A. Indifferent B. Positive C. Satisfied D. Critical
第III卷 非选择题 (满分30分)
第四部分:写作
第一节 阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读短文,并按照题目要求用英语回答问题。
Walter was always sitting in the same chair when I came to visit. He would look up and smile when he saw me and pat the chair next to him for me to sit down. He loved to tell me about his lost golden years when he was an excellent baseball player. I was a good listener. After a couple of hours of talking, I would shake his hands and say goodbye to him. I hoped that I brought a little sunshine into Walter's life.
I met Walter when I was a high school student participating in a volunteer program with elderly people in a nursing home. It was the first of many such activities, ranging from playing with disabled children to sitting with cancer patients in a hospital. These activities seemed to satisfy my desire to be useful and to feel a meaningful connection to the lives of others.
My parents inculcated me with a belief that there was no greater human value than kindness, and encouraged me to make helping others and contributing to society important goals in life. Volunteer work provided a way of attempting to realize the truth of these messages.
I learned that volunteerism is not a one-way act of helping someone less fortunate. Involvement in the life of another person has enriched my life as well. Seeing how people deal with the challenges of their lives has taught me valuable lessons in courage and dignity. Many of the people whom I have met as a volunteer are an unforgettable part of my life. Perhaps I received far more than I ever gave.
This is why volunteerism works—each of us has so much need for human connection and so much to give to others.
