本课是节选自19世纪美国小说家,埃德加·艾伦·坡(Edgar Allan Poe)(1809~1849)于1841年发表的短篇小说《莫斯肯漩涡沉浮记》。本课以时间为序,讲述了一个渔夫和他的两个兄弟在捕鱼回程的路上遇到了“莫斯肯漩涡“,最后只有这个故事的讲述者也就是这个渔夫幸存下来。
本课属于故事类记叙文。故事的发展脉络清楚,通过故事的讲述者对不同阶段周围事物的变化的描写烘托出这个渔夫的的心理变化。
作者希望学生通过本课的学习,能够进一步思考人与自然的关系,明白在大自然的面前人类是渺小的,同时,在面对自然灾害的时候我们依然需要冷静下来努力思考解决办法,这样才能生存下来。
