这篇题目乍一看就是一篇求助信，不过本篇题目暗藏玄机，难点在于开放性强，导致很多学生不知如何构思：我遇到了什么困难？又尝试了什么方法？为什么未达到预期效果？）
这种考法，笔者联想到今年新高考I卷的应用文写作，让给外教写信，提出自己对于“随机两人一组练习口语”的问题和建议，同样也要思考问题是什么，然后给出相应建议。这类题目大家在动笔之前要先构思清楚架构，问题和建议相对应。
首先可以关注的是邮件写给外教，所以开头部分可以使用礼貌用语。如新高考I卷开头可以是：很高兴能得到练习口语的宝贵机会，不过关于...自己有一些困惑。那么温州这篇针对“外刊阅读”的邮件开头，也可以是感谢外教推荐的外刊阅读方式，不过自己遇到了一些困难，需要外教给自己一些指导。（当然也可以不这么狗腿奉承，就写自己为了提升英语，所以进行外刊阅读也可以，笔者只是联想到今年新高考的题目，提供一种针对类似特殊群体如长辈老师等的写作思路）

那么接下来到第二段正文，外刊阅读遇到问题？无外乎就是看不懂；看不懂可以从几个方面：单词，语法结构，或者背景知识（如涉及的历史或文化背景等）；尝试方法则可以是查词典和网络搜寻信息，未达到预期效果则可以是背不下单词/效率太低/只搜到片段信息，请求的指导可以是推荐背单词的方法/推荐书籍/权威可信的网站；

How is everything going I have tried a lot of ways to improve my foreign journal reading but all these attempts have yet reached the desired results. Therefore, I’m writing to ask for your help and give me some guidance on how to improve it.
One method I have tried is to write down the unknown words I came across during reading and review it at the end of the day. Another way is to translate it orally and check it with the Chinese version to see if I have misunderstanding. However, both ways take a lot of time. Worse still, the foreign journal reading still poses a language barrier to me. Thus, I would appreciate it greatly if you could be kind enough to give me some advice.

I have been struggling with comprehending the articles in foreign publications.
I have encountered some difficulties and I have tried various methods to overcome them, but with little success.
Reading English journals has been a big headache for me.
I’m having a hard time with comprehending foreign journals.
When reading foreign journals, I feel overwhelmed and my brains feel like scrambled eggs/ foggy/ pudding .
I have tried various methods such as using a dictionary to look up unfamiliar words, reading the same article multiple times, and even listening to audio versions of the articles.
Hard as I tried to look up the words, I still couldn’t make sense of the sentence, let along the passage.
I have difficulties/ troubles in understanding foreign journals.
Whatever efforts I have tried, no attempt seems to work.
Hard as I have tried, I am still unable/ fail to grasp the gist and the content remains a substantial challenge for me.
