The day started very early at 7: 00 am. I had my breakfast downstairs with my mom, She could tell that I was very nervous. Mom kept asking me what was wrong. She told me I had nothing to worry about and that everyone was going to love me. If they didn’t love me, Mom said to send them her way for a good talking to. I couldn’t stop laughing.
My mom dropped me off at the school gates about five minutes before the bell. A little blonde girl got dropped off at the same time and started waving(招手) at me. She ran over and told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close straight away. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. Staying healthy is important, but many people neglect (忽视) their health because they don’t think they have the time to look after it. It’s not just a time matter; people think it’s boring to spend time on their health. In fact, you can do some simple things to get healthier and have fun.
There’re some fun things that hardly seem like they are for keeping you healthy at all, but they do help. The first thing you can do is singing. Singing improves your oxygen flow(氧气流), which in turn is good for your skin and immune system(免疫系统). It’s also good for your brain. Another feel-good and health-improving activity is laughing. You can watch a funny movie. Laughing is a healthy way to reduce stress and pain, improve brain function, lower blood pressure and protect the heart.
Laughing and singing might go together, but for something completely normal that you do every day, you should eat to stay healthy. It’s unhealthy not to eat breakfast or try to work on an empty stomach. You can eat some fruit or other healthy snacks instead of missing a meal.
Exercise is important to staying healthy, but it often feels more like work than fun. One thing you can do to have more fun is attend a dance class. Dancing in a safe environment is good exercise as well as fun. Taking classes in kung fu can be a lot of fun too. It can be a great way to lose weight, but you should probably consult your doctor before starting if you are in bad health or very overweight.
28. According to the passage, many people neglect their health because they ________.
A. are already healthy enough B. are too tired to stay healthy

30. The underlined word “consult” in Paragraph 4 probably means ________.

31. The best title for the passage is probably ________.
A. Fun ways to stay healthy B. What to eat to stay healthy
C. How to make life more fun D. Different fun exercises

A few plants grow all year long. Choose when you will do your planting. Then choose the best plants to grow.
I’m sure you will enjoy your garden. Gardens can be very pretty. What’s nicer than seeing bright flowers all around you You can also grow many kinds of great foods. Some people say food they grow themselves tastes better. Best of all, gardens are just plain fun.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
“Here you go,” Melanie said, handing Ava a pink envelope.
“Thanks.” Ava said. “But what is it ”
“An invitation to my pool party. It’s Saturday at two. There will be a lot of fun things to do. You are going to love it so much. Do come, please.” Melanie kept talking but Ava wasn’t listening.
The words “pool party” echoed (回响) through her mind. Ava had a secret she didn’t even tell her best friend Melanie—Ava couldn’t swim. Every time she tried to learn, she’d wind up(以…告终) with water up her nose and she’d be out of the pool as quickly as possible. “You’re coming, right ” Melanie said
“Huh ” Ava jumped.
“Do you think you could come a little early I could use your help inflating(使充气) the floating basketball hoops(篮筐) and the ball. And I will need you to help me set the tables.” Ava didn’t know what to say. Melanie was one of her best friends. She couldn’t miss her party. But she didn’t want the whole school to find out she couldn’t swim. That would be too embarrassing. “I think I might be busy this Saturday,” Ava said, lowering her head. She saw the disappointment on Melanie’s face. “Maybe I could stop by for a little while, but I definitely wouldn’t have time to swim.”
Ava spent the rest of the school day trying to avoid Melanie’s questions about what she had to do on Saturday and why she couldn’t stay for the whole party. Ava felt awful. That night she asked her parents to ground(罚小孩不许出门) her or make other plans so she couldn’t go to Melanie’s party.
“Ava, this is silly,” her mother said. “Melanie is your best friend. She won’t care that you can’t swim.” Ava wasn’t so sure.
“Just be honest with Melanie. She will understand you,” her father said.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。
Paragraph 1:

I’m excited. Tomorrow my mother’s going to arrive at the San Francisco Airport. She’s coming from Osaka, Japan. Today I’m going to clean my apartment because she’s going to stay with me. Tomorrow, I’m going to pick her up. Then, we’re going to drive to my sister’s house. We’re going to have dinner with all of our friends and family that live in the Bay Area. On Saturday, we’re going to get up late. After a late breakfast, my sister and I are going to show her the beautiful city of San Francisco. We’re going to take a cable car ride. Then, I’m going to take her to my girlfriend’s house. We want to get married next year, so I want my mother to meet her. I hope she likes her.
