Shennongjia Forest District is located in the northwest of Hubei province, covering a total area about 3250 sq km. It borders on Xiangyang, Shiyan, Yichang and Wanxian county of Chongqing city.
It's said that there may be wild men here.

It is my pleasure to give a lecture here on behalf of the Be at One with Nature Association.
Shennongjia made it onto the UNESCO World Heritage List.
UNESCO awarded Shennongjia this status because it meets two criteria required by the list.
For the first criterion, Shennongjia is apparently one of the most “complete” natural areas in the world.
For the second criterion, we can see that Shennongjia has incredible biodiversity.
It is a challenge to look after so many species.
But the most impressive aspect of Shennongjia is the local people, who take things from nature without causing damage.
All of this explains why Shennongjia earned - and deserves - its place on the UNESCO World Heritage List, ...

To protect the ecology of Shennongjia, scientists make every effort to look after the species. In winter, scientists brave heavy snow and freezing temperatures to supply food to the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey. More importantly, the local people live in harmony with the nature. They take things from nature without damaging it.

Macquarie Island was once in chaos due to the introduction of non-native species, while Shennongjia has always been in natural harmony.
The native species of Macquarie Island existed for thousands of years, while some of the plants and animals in Shennongjia have survived over millions of years.
Shennongjia has more varied species of plants and animals than Macquarie island.
2. Decide what conclusions you can draw from comparing the two places and what you would like to include in your talk.
3. Give your talk to the class.
Humans are only part of naturally-balanced nature as the animals. We should live without disturbing the normal ecosystem or we'll be punished by nature.
