Dear Adam,
Knowing from your last letter that you would like to know about my healthy lifestyle, I am writing to share with you some ways of living a healthy life, which lay the foundation of my good health.
First of all, we should not only have a well-balanced diet which consists of different kinds of foods but also have three meals regularly. In addition, take a positive attitude towards things and people around us so that we can keep mentally healthy. Furthermore, taking regular exercise, like swimming, jogging, yoga, etc, is beneficial to building up a strong body.
Hope my ideas will be of help and wish we both could live healthily and happily.
Yours,
Li Hua
高一听力原文:
1、M: I have no idea whether my workmates will come to the party or not.
W: Don’t worry. We have enough food for all of them.
2、W: Hey George, you look tired. What have you been up to
M: I’ve just got back from the Philippines. The flight was long, but it was great; the beaches were beautiful and the hotel was really relaxing.
W: Wow, amazing!
3、W: How is your brother doing
M: He’s great. He’s been training hard for a 42 kilometer race in June.
W: That’s fantastic. What’s he doing to prepare
M: He runs about 10 kilometers every other day and he watches his diet carefully.
4、W: You’re always cleaning around the house on weekends. I think you must enjoy it.
M: Not really.
W: To my surprise. But your house is tidy and clean.
M: I know. I’d rather relax or go hiking. But weekends are the only time I can clean the house.
5、W: Alan and I are going to eat at the restaurant by the station after the meeting. Would you like to come along
M: I went there about two months ago, and the service was pretty slow.
W: Well, I heard they had a new manager a couple of weeks ago, so maybe it’s better now. And it’s close enough to walk to.
6、M: Hi, Cindy. I hear you have got a new job.
W: Yeah. I’m teaching math at Lincoln High School.
M: How do you like it
W: It’s pleasant. The students are great. How are things with you
M: Not bad. I’m an air traffic controller now, you know.
W: Wow! That’s exciting.
M: Yes. But it’s a very stressful job.
7、W: Good afternoon. Thank you for calling Wilson Law Firm. This is Monica.
M: Hi, Monica, this is Carl from Wholesale Office Supplies. I am returning your call about the broken copy machine in your shop. I can come by and fix it tomorrow afternoon if that’s okay.
W: Actually, I have quite a few documents that I need to copy as soon as possible. Is there any chance you could come this afternoon
M: Hmm … I could probably fit you in sometime late this afternoon. I’ll call you about 30 minutes before I get there.
W: Okay, thank you. See you then.
8、W: Hi, Jane calling. I’m on the bus heading to the restaurant for the customer dinner, but I’m running late. My meeting was longer than I expected.
M: Oh, right — the sales meeting. So do you know how to get to the restaurant
W: Well, I just know it’s near Cloverfield Park, but I’m not sure how to get to the restaurant from the bus stop. Could you meet me there so I can walk over with you
M: Sure. How soon
W: I don’t know, but right now we’re passing the City Museum.
M: Oh, so it’ll be about ten minutes. I’ll see you soon.
9、M: 669872.
W: Oh, hello. I’m ringing about the guitar you have for sale. Can you tell me how old it is
M: Well, I bought it from a friend about six months ago, and he’d got it for his birthday, so it’s about eleven months old now.
W: How much are you selling it for
M: I think I’d like two hundred pounds for it. I bought it for five hundred.
W: Sounds good. Can I come and see it
M: Sure. I live at 60, Kensal Road.
W: Can I walk there from High Street
M: It’s probably best if you get a bus. The number eighteen bus stops in my road outside number seventy. And there’s a subway station, but it’s a bit farther from my house.
W: My name is Jenny Levine and you are …
M: Josh Bentley.
W: I’m free tonight. Would you be at home at 8 o’clock
M: I don’t get back from work until eight. Maybe …
10、M: There’s lots of advice on CVs and a lot of it differs so it’s hard to say exactly what a perfect CV is. I’d say a good CV should cover no more than two sides of A4 paper and be divided into clear headings. The first section should include personal details: name, address, telephone number, email and things. Some employers like to see a photo, too. You can always phone the company and find out. Next comes education and qualifications starting with the most recent things. The third section deals with work experience — again starting with the most recent job. I think it’s important here to be brief. You don’t need to use complete sentences as long as it’s very clear what you’ve done. Following this is the section on professional skills. Show the employer your abilities, including your ability to use IT and foreign languages. Finally, detail your interests. An employer likes to know what kind of person you are and things like team sports, for example, show this. Perhaps the most important thing is to show how you meet the requirements in the job advertisement.
