Analysis of the Teaching Material 本课是一节听说课。在Section A的基础上进行听力输人和拓展话题内容。活动1a看图写话，需要引导学生借助方框中的词汇，运用进行时对图片进行描述，为下面环节作词汇和句型方面的铺垫，也为本单元目标语言的使用提供了更丰富的素材。1b-1c的听力内容主要围绕外星人事件,进一步巩固情态动词表示推测的用法。1d是1b和1c的延续，让学生根据所听到的信息用角色扮演的形式进行语言运用。本活动还旨在培养学生从听力材料中提取本单元目标语言和重要信息的能力。
Analysis of the Students 用情态动词表示推测，学生已经非常熟悉，只是有些学生缺乏丰富的想象力，所以在谈论1a图片时需要教师充分地引导学生，使学生积极主动地去思考，并且踊跃发言。在听力方面，九年级的学生已经出现了两极分化，这就需要教师用心设计听力活动和任务，一步一步引导学生，逐步消除学生的听力障碍，使学生能最大限度地参与到听说活动中来。
Analysis of Teaching Objectives Language ability 1.学生能掌握本课重点词汇:land,alien,run afer,suit.2.学生能学会以下句型:He could be running for exer.cise. /I must be dreaming. /They must be making a movie,3.学生能运用情态动词推测某人正在进行的动作，并展开话题讨论。4通过谈论“外星人事件” 学习情态动词might/could/must +be +doing的用法，会使用情态动词推测正在发生的事。
Learningability 1.通过连接已知经验，能够预测听力内容，听懂相关话题的简短对话，提高运用策略的意识。
Thinking quality 1.通过观察讨论归纳，总结情态动词表推测的用法，提高思维的批判性和逻辑性。2通过小组合作，能够使用所学目标语言，根据图片信息 ，推断故事的情节发展。提高思维的批判性和逻辑性。

Step 1Lead-in Show some pictures about aliens and UFO. Let students think about two questions:1. Are you interested in the UFO and aliens 2.Do you think there are aliens and UFO 学习新单词，观察图片认真思考并回答问题。 展示本课新词汇，为听力降低难度，展示相关图片，激发学生学习兴趣。引入主题。
Step 2Pre-listening Show the pictures of1a, present them by asking questions: what is it And what are they doing Let students make prediction about this story. 观察1a的图片并通过细节进行合理推测并完成1a头脑风暴，尝试对图片进行排序 看图思考，抓住细节，锻炼推理能力，头脑风暴，激发学习好奇心。

Teaching Reflection: 亮点之处 本节课通过猜测游戏导入新课，给学生准备了充足而丰富的听力任务，让学生跟随任务抓住听力中的关键信息，从而理解整篇听力故事。接着又让学生续写故事并进行对话表演，从而达到能力提升的目的。在整节课中，学生表现积极活跃，能开动脑筋，主动思考，踊跃发言，达到了预期教学目标。
有待改进 不过在学生讨论的过程中，课堂秩序有些混乱，有些同学趁机用汉语聊一些与课堂无关的事情，还有几组续写的故事太墨守成规，不够有创意。
