教材分析
本单元围绕“太空探索”这一主题展开,通过科普文介绍太空探索的相关历史与成就、火星探索计划等相关信息,让学生关注人类太空探索的进程,不仅是为了开阔学生视野,增长见识,积累相关的语言,更重要的是让学生感受和体会科学家以及宇航员们为航天事业的发展不断努力、勇敢开拓的精神。宣扬这种精神,也是为了激励青少年勤奋学习、刻苦钻研、不畏挫折、努力探索自己的发展道路,立下远大志向,为国家科技事业的发展奉献自己的智慧和力量。通过介绍人类探索太空的历史与成就(包括我国航天事业的发展与成就)、宇航员的选拔、太空中的生活、火星探索计划、天文百科知识、以及关于“人类耗费时间和金钱去探索太空是否值得”和“人类火星上安家是否可行”等话题的讨论,帮助学生梳理人类太空探索的历史,引导他们把握语篇的逻辑层次;启发学生解读作者的态度以及写作意图。掌握本单元的学习目标和词汇学习与运用,能够就“火星上安家是否可行”这一话题有条理、有说服力的表述自己的观点。本单元主要设计为三大部分分别是: Section A Reading And Thinking;Section B Learning about Language ;Section C Using Language用三个课时来完成。然而,深入的挖掘课本的 workbook (P44-45)中的文章具有重大的意义。本节课以学习“Homes on Mars ” 为中心,通过前面三个部分的学习,大部分同学都有了一定的语言知识积累,所以在学生积累了一定的相关知识后,引导学生进行有效的头脑风暴和语言输出,对于培养学生的批判性思维培养具有重要意义。
教学重难点:
1)通过学习太空相关的文章,提高科学素养;
2)通过中西方对于“太空生活”不同的观点,体验西方的冒险精神和中方的谨慎精神。
3)思维是优秀语言学习品质的外显,通过分析和评判关于太空生活的不同立场和态度,学会质疑和分析;能够批判性的看待事情,并准确、有条理、有信服力的提出自己的论点和论据。

First of all, if we really have the capacity of transforming Mars, why not invest more time and efforts to take care of Earth Besides, Martian environment is not friendly to people. There is no air we live on. Temperature there is terrible for us to adapt to.”

本活动通过向学生提供相互对立的观点,让学生认真讨论,头脑风暴后,形成自己的批判性观点。这两个环节中,为学生提供必要的词块至关重要,学生参照相关词块,在语言输出上跨越了不小的障碍。学生的参与度高,效果喜人。

课后反思
这节课总体上还是实现了预先设计的教学目标,课堂效果也比较理想。精心设计的每个环节和任务活动都得到了有效的完成。但是,在批判性思维培养中,学生在输入了相关知识信息后输出的并不是很顺畅,没有达到预期的效果。
一、 尽管平时也经常的提醒学生进行批判性思维的培养,以应对新高考对每个学生整体素质的要求。但是,平常的教学中,教学材料的局限性对于学生的批判性思维的培养难以达到预想的程度。所以,简单的通过一堂课来达到这个教学目标,也确实比较的难以实现。
二、 学生语言学习仍停留在背诵记忆层面,没有深入的挖掘学生的语言表达能力,导致“哑巴英语”存在的比较普遍,需要打造“说”的课堂。在实操过程中,由于学生平时张嘴机会比较少,学生的语音、语调方面的指导还不是很到位,下一步平时教学要下功夫。
三、 在学生活动方面,就是最后一部分头脑风暴后,没有留给学生充足的时间去讨论和展示自己的文章,自己感觉特别遗憾。如果再上一节课,我会留出更多的时间让学生小组有更多的表现机会。其次,在两位同学展示结束后,点评上还没有达到理想的程度。
总之,这堂课让我从各个层面获得了很大的提升。作为一位热爱英语的老师,我会在今后的教学中更加具有创新精神,让学生们更加的爱上英语学科,用英语讲好自己的故事,讲好中国的故事,成为文化交流的桥梁。
