In April 2008, I came across an essay a boy with autism(自闭症)had written when he was 14. I was impressed. I thought there was potential for a documentary. The director agreed. “Find the boy!” he said. A couple of months later, I found him, Anton. So it began-a film about Anton’s transformation. At least, that’s what I thought at the time.
During filming, I helped put him into different hospitals and camps for treatment and we became close. There were lots of unforgettable moments. I remember one visit when we sat together, talking quietly and eating food I’d made. Then it was time for me to go. Without saying a word, Anton stood up and started to bang his head against the wall. BAM. BAM. Blood streamed down his face. At that moment, looking at the despair on Anton’s face, I recognized myself. What I recognized was an emotional abundance in him that I had myself. Like Anton, I was over the top. If I loved someone, I loved them completely. If I was upset, I let it show. But unlike Anton, I’d learned to edit emotions as if they were a film. But lately, I was waking up in the morning with one terrifying thought: “Who am I ” Anton helped me to answer this. He was the only person in my life who let me love without any holding back and who loved me the same way.
The film Anton’s Right Here was released in October 2012 and shown at film festivals in Russia where it received prizes at several major Russian film festivals.
After the film was shown by the First TV Channel, Russia’s main TV channel, letters flowed in. Autistic individuals and their families needed help. That’s when the idea of a foundation began to take shape in my mind. The foundation, called Anton’s Right Here, officially opened in December 2013. It’s Russia’s first-ever centre for adults with autism. It keeps helping people with autism like Anton.
When we started to film, Anton was 19. He’s now 31. I’m still very much a part of his life. With his unedited emotions, Anton reminds me every day of what it’s like to be really, unreservedly loved and to love back in return.

Imagine, John Lennon’s most famous song was recently voted “Britain’s favourite song of all time”. Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens are to start a war on gray-headed flying foxes. These super bats have invaded one of Australia’s most famous public spaces. Officials have said the animals are destroying trees and have to move on.
These unwanted guests at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens look like tiny foxes with wings. Officials have estimated there are about 11,000 of them living in the harbor-side park. After inspecting damage to dozens of trees they now believe there are twice as many as previously thought. Branches have been breaking under the weight of these furry invaders and their droppings have been poisoning plants.
Help may well be at hand, however, in the shape of the ordinary garbage bin. The gardens’ director Dr. Tim Entwistle hopes the unpleasant sounds of crashing bin lids will agitate the flying foxes and force them to move on. “The way to disturb them is to use noises, so we’ve used the loud noises made by rubbish bins in the past. You can also use speakers as long as you move the noise around, and what we’ll do is to have a series of noises, at the beginning and end of the day. What we’ve found in the past is that the flying foxes leave the gardens and go somewhere else,” said Tim.
The gray-headed flying fox is Australia’s largest bat. It flies around at night using its eyes and a powerful sense of smell to search for fruit and flowers. Officials at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney have said they’re optimistic the unwelcome colony can be uprooted. If and when the bats do move to other parts of the city they will of course then become someone else’s problem.

In April 2008, I came across an essay a boy with autism(自闭症)had written when he was 14. I was impressed. I thought there was potential for a documentary. The director agreed. “Find the boy!” he said. A couple of months later, I found him, Anton. So it began-a film about Anton’s transformation. At least, that’s what I thought at the time.
During filming, I helped put him into different hospitals and camps for treatment and we became close. There were lots of unforgettable moments. I remember one visit when we sat together, talking quietly and eating food I’d made. Then it was time for me to go. Without saying a word, Anton stood up and started to bang his head against the wall. BAM. BAM. Blood streamed down his face. At that moment, looking at the despair on Anton’s face, I recognized myself. What I recognized was an emotional abundance in him that I had myself. Like Anton, I was over the top. If I loved someone, I loved them completely. If I was upset, I let it show. But unlike Anton, I’d learned to edit emotions as if they were a film. But lately, I was waking up in the morning with one terrifying thought: “Who am I ” Anton helped me to answer this. He was the only person in my life who let me love without any holding back and who loved me the same way.
The film Anton’s Right Here was released in October 2012 and shown at film festivals in Russia where it received prizes at several major Russian film festivals.
After the film was shown by the First TV Channel, Russia’s main TV channel, letters flowed in. Autistic individuals and their families needed help. That’s when the idea of a foundation began to take shape in my mind. The foundation, called Anton’s Right Here, officially opened in December 2013. It’s Russia’s first-ever centre for adults with autism. It keeps helping people with autism like Anton.
When we started to film, Anton was 19. He’s now 31. I’m still very much a part of his life. With his unedited emotions, Anton reminds me every day of what it’s like to be really, unreservedly loved and to love back in return.

Imagine, John Lennon’s most famous song was recently voted “Britain’s favourite song of all time”. It’s an idealistic song about peace and hope for a better world. “Imagine all the people living life in peace”. The song was a big hit in 1971 and again in 1981 Lennon was murdered in New York. It became a hit for a third time after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.
But who really wrote the song Until recently the answer to this question was always John Lennon. But on a TV program this week, Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, spoke for the first time about how she in fact helped to write the song.
Ono said that the idea and inspiration (灵感) for Imagine came from some of her poems that John Lennon was reading at that time. The poems began with the word “Imagine”. Ono said, “During the Second World War, my brother and I were terribly hungry. I imagined delicious menus for him and he began to smile. If you think something impossible, you can imagine it and make it happen.”
In an interview just before he died, Lennon admitted that Yoko deserved credit for Imagine. He said a lot of it came from her, from her book of poems. Imagine this, imagine that.
Ono said that some of the song was written when they were flying across the Atlantic, and the rest was written on the piano in their bedroom at their home in England. Ono said, “The song speaks about John’s dream for the world. It was something he really wanted to say.” Imagine became a popular song for peace activists everywhere.
In March 2002, the airport in his hometown of Liverpool was renamed John Lennon Airport. A sign above the main entrance has a line from Imagine ‘Above us only sky’.

Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens are to start a war on gray-headed flying foxes. These super bats have invaded one of Australia’s most famous public spaces. Officials have said the animals are destroying trees and have to move on.
These unwanted guests at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens look like tiny foxes with wings. Officials have estimated there are about 11,000 of them living in the harbor-side park. After inspecting damage to dozens of trees they now believe there are twice as many as previously thought. Branches have been breaking under the weight of these furry invaders and their droppings have been poisoning plants.
Help may well be at hand, however, in the shape of the ordinary garbage bin. The gardens’ director Dr. Tim Entwistle hopes the unpleasant sounds of crashing bin lids will agitate the flying foxes and force them to move on. “The way to disturb them is to use noises, so we’ve used the loud noises made by rubbish bins in the past. You can also use speakers as long as you move the noise around, and what we’ll do is to have a series of noises, at the beginning and end of the day. What we’ve found in the past is that the flying foxes leave the gardens and go somewhere else,” said Tim.
The gray-headed flying fox is Australia’s largest bat. It flies around at night using its eyes and a powerful sense of smell to search for fruit and flowers. Officials at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney have said they’re optimistic the unwelcome colony can be uprooted. If and when the bats do move to other parts of the city they will of course then become someone else’s problem.

Getting more and more exhausted he thought only of Zahra and his promise to her. Dreaming of the new shoes he would win for his sister gave him strength, and he stayed right be hind the two fastest runners, determined to finish third. Suddenly, as the finish line drew near, another runner collided(碰撞) with Ali from behind and he crashed to the ground.
