教材分析 The theme of this unit is food and culture. The teaching content of this course is selected from the Reading text Culture and Cuisine in the Reading and Thinking section of Food and Culture, Unit 3 of the second volume of Compulsory High School English for the latest Human Education Edition of 2020. The theme context is food and culture. Centering on the understanding of the relationship between food and culture, the author describes typical dishes and their characteristics from the perspective of foreigners, and experiences the cultural connotations, historical traditions and regional characteristics reflected in them, leading students to think about the relationship between food and regions, cultural traditions and local personalities. At the same time, students are guided to dialectically view the relationship between food and culture, explore the impact of globalization on food culture, understand the extensive and profound Chinese food culture, enhance the awareness of food culture, strengthen cultural confidence, spread Chinese food culture, and strive to build a global food culture community. 学情分析 The teaching object of this course is Grade two students, who have a certain English foundation and have no difficulty in understanding the article, but their grammar knowledge is relatively insufficient. 读前准备及导入新课 Step I Lead in Shows a video and a flash of pictures about food, and then asks students about their favorite food and its corresponding culture. Predict the content of the text according to the title. Have a free talk about food and culture. Predict the content of the text and express their ideas on what makes a great woman or man. Arouse their interest in the topic and prediction is helpful for students to understand the the content easily.
读中环节 Activity1: Read the text quickly to locate the main idea in each paragraph and identify the structure. Activity2: Following the key information and questions, read for details. Skim the text and read the passage quickly , finding out the main idea in each paragraph, and identify the structure of the text. Scanning the text for detailed information, locate the answers to the questions and follow the key words to fill the key information in the blanks. Watch the video and picture, and enjoy the close relation of culture and cuisine. By through going through key words, and topic sentences, they can grasp the main idea and better understand the structure of the text. By scanning the passage, they can grasp detailed information and master the relation among food and culture, as a result, they have a better understanding of incredible Chinese culture and the stories behind the culture.
