教材分析 本课教学内容选自高等教育出版社出版的“十四五”职业教育国家规划教材，《英语3 基础模块》中Unit 7 Warming up and Listening and Speaking部分，听说部分要求学生能识别表示灾害的词汇,询问并回应因自然灾害导致航班延误的事件，并能就有关自然灾害的信息进行交流。
学情分析 本单元主题为自然灾害，在课堂导入环节，需要学生调动已知的关于自然灾害的词汇，对于学生来说，了解常见的自然灾害难度不大，但是缺乏基本的词汇储备，用英语表达自然灾害存在一定的难度；部分学生 了解常见的自然灾害相关词汇，但缺乏归纳总结，用英语谈论自然灾害的能力略显薄弱，需进一步强化与提高。

Step 1: Lead in 1.Teach the vocabulary of natural disasters. Present a situation. T: Breaking news, a big flood stroke the city yesterday , let’s have a look... T: What is the video about S: Natural disaster. T: What kind of natural disasters do you know Then the teacher presents the names of different natural disasters: sandstorm, heat waves, floods, drought, earthquake, typhoon. 2. The definition of natural disasters. T: Actually, there are many natural disasters happening in recent years. Let’s come to say what they are. Sandstorm: it is a strong wind carrying clouds of sand with it, especially in a desert. Typhoon: it is a very violent tropical storm. Floods: it is a very large amount of water that covers an area that is usually dry . Drought: it is a long period of dry weather when there is not enough water for plants and animals to live . Earthquake: it is a sudden shaking of the Earth’s surface that often causes a lot of damage . Heat waves: it is a period of unusually hot weather, especially one that continues for a long time . 3.The consequences of natural disasters T: What are the possible effects of natural disasters Flights are likely to be canceled or delayed due to the typhoon. Earthquakes may destroy cites, causing tsunamis or mudslides. The floods destroyed many homes. Heat waves make people suffer from sunstroke. Sandstorms can cause traffic accidents or flight delays. Drought may lead to reduction of grain production. Identify the vocabulary of natural disasters, get familiar with their definitions and the consequences they may cause. 本环节通过创设记者播报突发的自然灾害，顺其自然地介绍自然灾害的种类，定义及其可能导致的后果，激活相关词汇。
Step 2: Warming up Look and match. T: Please look at the pictures and match the names of the disasters with the pictures. Think and tick. T: What consequences these natural disasters may cause, think over and tick out the possible sentences. Words practice. Use games (吹泡泡，切水果) to practice memorizing the vocabulary of natural disasters. Step 5: Speaking Imitate and Talk. And some of them are caused by human activities. A: Well, it is lucky that people have decided to make a change. B: Yes. It is what we should do right now. And the most important thing is how we can have more people join us. A: I agree with you. If more people join us ... Role play. T:A foreign tourist was traveling in China, but his flight was canceled and his train was delayed. He had to stay in the hotel and complain to the receptionist. (2)Discussion. T: Have a discussion with your partners and answer the question: Why were the flight canceled and the ships delayed Possible answer: My flight is canceled due to the typhoon./Other transportations like ships are delayed.
