教材分析 本课教学内容选自教材Unit 8 Role Models of the Times中的Reading and Writing部分,要求学生能读懂有关时代楷模两位科学家袁隆平、屠呦呦的文章,思考他们成为时代楷模的原因,运用恰当的词汇与句型描述图片人物刘玫与其榜样的故事,完成写给偶像的一封信的写作任务。
学情分析 知识基础 经过前两节课的学习,学生积累了一些关于谈论时代楷模的词汇和句型。对非谓语动词有一定的基础,但是非谓语动词做状语的情况不熟悉,从而阻碍了对语篇的理解。 认知能力 学生对于文中涉及的时代人物袁隆平、屠呦呦有一定的了解,能根据相关信息识别文章体裁, 有一定的提炼、分析关键信息的阅读能力。但是缺乏深入挖掘文本信息,总结归纳人物成功的逻辑思维能力。 学习特点 学生学习态度端正,对活动参与性高,有一定的信息素养,交互能力强,善于利用网络搜集信息,完成相关活动。但是对于大篇幅的文章,存在疲乏感。他们习惯用可视化的图片,帮助自己更好地理解语篇,从而降低阅读的难度。
学习目标 make judgments based on key information, analyzing the reasons why they become models of the Times. 2. identify the structure in the narrative text and the logical relationship of the characters' deeds in the text. 3. use appropriate vocabularies and sentence patterns, such as contribution to, benefit from, thanks to, etc to describe the story of Liu Mei and her role model, completing the task of writing a letter to their idols. 4.understand and express the deeds and spirits of Yuan Longping, Tu Youyou and China Women's Volleyball Team, stimulating their national pride and helping students have correct values.

Step 1: Lead in Who is he/she Let students guess who the two scientists are: He is a scientist. He is called the “Father of Hybrid Rice”. He won the Medal of the Republic in 2019. She is a scientist. She won the Nobel Prize of Medicine. She discovered artemisinin to treat malaria. And teach the new words: hybrid adj杂交的,the Medal of the Republic共和国勋章,Nobel Prize of Medicine诺贝尔医学奖,artemisinin青蒿素,malaria疟疾。 Read the sentences and guess who they are. 引出两位名人,让学生对袁隆平和屠呦呦有更深的了解。为后文作铺垫。
Step 2: Pre-reading Think and match Give students 3minutes to read the sentences and match these deeds wih the right scientist. Read and match. 为正文部分做文化铺垫。
Step 3: While-reading What type of passage is it Lead students choose the right type of the passage and explain to students what a narrative is: A narrative is an account of an event or a series of events. Read and choose. Give students 2 minutes and figure out the main idea of the passage:he contributions of two Chinese scientists Guess the word meaning. Let students circle the new and difficult words and guess their meanings, then the teacher gives the right answer: undoubtedly, achievement, set world records, yield, solution, discovery, traditional, essential, thanks to, contribution. Read and complete. Let students read the passage carefully and finish the information card of Yuan Longping and Tu Youyou. Lead students to pay attention to the key information: job, prize, achievement, influence, key words. Go through the whole passage quickly and get the main idea. Circle the new and important words and guess their meanings. Read carefully and finish completing the information of the two scientists. Step 4: Post-reading Words practice. Use a game to help students review the important words: the Medal of the Republic/be awarded/be known as/in the global lead/be planted with/创造世界纪录/给...提供/一个...另一个.../被用来做.../多亏;幸/excellent/undoubtedly/successfully/discovery/malaria/ 标准/治疗/贡献/受益/杂交的 How to write a narrative of a famous person Use Yuan Longping as an example: the teacher analyzes the passage from these aspects: who/job/prize/achievements/influence/key words. Discuss and introduce. Ask students to pair work and fill in the information of Zhong Nanshan from the aspects of name/job/field/prize/achievement/influence/key words. Why they are the role models Let students think why they(Yuan Longping/Tu Youyou/Zhong Nanshan) are the role models of the Times.The teacher concludes: Because they made great efforts to solve global problems./Because their success can encourage the young to go for their dreams and contribute to the world. Play the word game and remember the words. Write down the six aspects of writing a narrative of a famous person. Work in pair. Fill in the information of Zhong Nanshan. Learn the good spirit of these role models. 本环节是词汇强化训练,用游戏让学生加强单词记忆,为后续写作做词汇铺垫。 本活动是开放性讨论活动,要求学生思考心中的楷模并做介绍,提升思维素养和文化素养,培养分析能力。活动帮助学生了解我国不同领域、不同行业的时代楷模,以榜样的力量激励学生。
Step 5: Writing Read and describe. Firstly, lead students to look at the pictures and get the information it wants to express. Then use the key words to fill in blanks. Pay attention to using the right forms such as number, tense, part of speech... Write and practice. Before writing, the teacher asks the students: “Who wrote the letter /Who got the letter /What kind of letter is it ”. The teacher introduces the four basic types of letters: thanks letter, invitation, complaint, apology. Analyze the structure of a thanks letter. Analyze the structure from these three aspects: (1)表明目的:I’m writing to express my thanks to you. (2)说明原因:It was you who gave me confidence and courage... (3)表达期待:I believe that I will work harder and set world records... Observe the pictures first, and then use the correct forms of the key words to fill in the blanks. Learn the basic structure of a thanks letter and finish the letter by using the information of the “Read and describe”part. Learn the logic if a thanks letter. 本活动要求学生通过阅读图片和提示信息,补全学生刘玫和她的榜样中国女排的故事,拓展环节,填写表格,充分利用了范文的框架,进一步帮助学生整理思路,为后续写作活动做语言方面的准备。 本环节是写作活动,教师引导学生在反复研读材料的基础上,分析关键线索,结合活动 14 的描述,完成刘玫写给榜样的信,侧重培养学生叙事的语言表达能力,帮助学生塑造正确的价值观。
