It was a cold yet sunny Saturday morning in February. Dad’s New Year’s resolution had been to get fit. Mum pushed him out of bed and told him to go jogging by the river. Later, after a nice lie-in, she went downstairs in her dressing gown and found the kids watching TV She turned it off and said she was going to do something really special for Dad’s birthday. If they overheard anything, just promised to keep it secret.
Jenny looked at Mum with a puzzled expression on her forehead and promised they wouldn’t say anything whatever happened. But Jenny reminded Dad’s birthday was in June and it might be a little too early to get all steamed up about it.
Silent for a moment, Mum said she was not getting everything ready but just wanted to spare enough time for preparation as this year it’s a bigger deal than usual. Dad was going to be 50.“50! Gosh, that’s half a century,” spluttered Gerry “I knew he was old but I didn’t realize he was ancient!”
Indeed, that was why Mum started planning a special party for him. Mum talked with grandma about the plan because her house was the only one in the family that is spacious enough for all friends and relatives. Grandma quite agreed and also started preparing
“But you know how Dad feels guilty to bother others. You’ve got to admit, reminded Jenny Thinking over the special occasion, Mum was continuing with her secret when one evening, Dad was sitting at the dinner table and he suddenly slapped his forehead “I just realized that I am going to be 50 in June. Let’s just quietly forget about it. I want to mourn(哀悼)the passing of my youth in private.”
“Oh, come on Dad, don’t be such a spoil-sport!” begged the kid , hoping to give mum a hand.
Realizing no more chance to hide the secret, Mum carefully worded her thought and shared her plan of having a little party at grandma’s house. Dad was stunned(震惊的)to no reply

Birthdays are typically the occasions for delight and feasting. Family and friends get together on the occasion and convey their regards with the beautiful presents they bring with themselves. I am personally a big fan-of birthdays and wait for my birthday approximately a month prior to the day.
This year, my birthday came off on last Monday. I didn't know that my parents had arranged a special party for me. At eight o'clock in the evening of my lucky birthday, I was alone at home complaining and frowning, and pitying myself for my misfortune. I thought it was going to be a special day filled with presents and fun, but all I received was a “Happy Birthday”.
All of a sudden, the electricity was cut off and there was a complete darkness in the house. I couldn't do anything. Therefore, I decided to go to sleep and end this unlucky day.
Out of the blue in that quiet night, I heard a sudden noise coming from downstairs. Startled and terribly shocked, I suspected that someone broke into the house. Immediately, I tried to phone my parents. but no one answered.
After a couple of minutes of fear, I started to calm down. Although in the meantime I heard more noises of people talking, I summoned up some courage and started heading for the basement. As I slowly drew closer to the basement, I guessed there were more than one person, but I found it hard to believe. There couldn't be a lot of people in our basement!
Courageously, I opened the door of the basement. There was a complete darkness. There wasn't a single noise. However, as I approached, I heard some laughter and confirmed that there were people. Suddenly, the lights were on and there stood my parents and friends cheering at me with the beautiful presents they had carefully prepared for me. It was a surprise party! The room was beautifully decorated with colorful balloons. Tables and chairs were laid and covered with white and contrasting red sheets. A gigantic birthday cake was positioned on the innermost table.
Paragraph 1: Now everything was ready and the party was set in motion.
Paragraph 2: The party was over and the guests began to head off
参考范文:
Now everything was ready and the party was set in motion. Surrounded by the guests, I made a wish and with all the strength blew the candles. The instant they extinguished, the guests gave a round of applause and started screaming with joy. It was clearly visible that they were having great fun and were as excited as I was. I cut the cake and heard everyone singing in a chorus “Happy birthday to you”! The next few hours we danced together happily. That day, we clicked many pictures and indeed I created a lot of memories.
The party was over and the guests began to head off. My parents expressed their gratitude for their visit. I dashed into my room to take stock of the presents I had received. I counted them all and established that I had received a number of precious things which were of huge use to me. I was dead tired by now. The day was about to come to an end. Still bathed in afterglow of the surprise party, I sat in my room and started dreaming for my next birthday and a new get-together with family and friends.

Prissy Baker was in Oscar Miller’s store on New Year’s morning, buying matches when her uncle, Richard Baker, came in. He did not look at Prissy, nor did she wish him a happy New Year; she would not have dared.
Uncle Richard had not been speaking with Prissy or her father since the two brothers’ quarrel over the division of a piece of property eight years ago. The fault had been mainly on Richard's side, but he was too stubborn to admit it.
He was actually a big, strong-looking man-an uncle to be proud of, Prissy thought, if only he were like what he used to be himself. He was the only uncle Prissy had, and when she was a little girl they had been great friends; but that was before the quarrel.
Richard Baker informed Mr. Miller he was on his way to Navarre to deliver a load of pork. “New Year’s Day would be pretty much the same as any other day to you,” said Mr. Miller, for Richard Baker was a bachelor(单身汉).
“Well,1 always like a good dinner on New Year’s Day,” said Richard Baker. “It's about the only way I can celebrate. I got everything ready last night but I have to send the pork now. I won't get back from Navarre before one o'clock, so I guess I'll have to put up with a cold bite.”
After her uncle had driven away, Prissy walked thoughtfully home. She did not mean to cook a dinner, for her father had to meet a friend and would be gone the whole day. There was nobody else to cook dinner for. Prissy’s mother had died when Prissy was a baby.
But as she walked home, she could not help thinking about Uncle Richard. He would certainly have cold New Year, cold enough to freeze the whole coming year. She felt sorry for him, picturing him returning from Navarre, cold and hungry, to find a fireless house and an uncooked dinner.
Para.1
Suddenly an idea came into Prissy’s head.
Para.2
Prissy had just set the table when an angry voice cut through the peace.
参考范文:
Suddenly an idea came into Prissy’s head. Why not go to uncle’s and prepare a fragrant dinner for him Without any hesitation, Prissy ran to Richard’s home as fast as possible. On her arrival, she slid into the house with her heart thumping strongly. She took out the frozen food from the fridge and mixed the ingredients together. She made some bread, which smelled good. She cooked the best food she ever cooked, the food looked particularly inviting. it must be her uncle’s favorite food. Prissy thought to herself, wishing that her uncle would like it.
Prissy had just set the table when an angry voice cut through the peace. It was Uncle Richard that yelled. “How dare you…”However, hardly had Richard stopped his yelling with fury when he saw the bright room. Into his sight came the tidy and clean table and a feast for dinner. “My dad would be gone the whole day. So…” she added with a sincere voice. “I’m so sorry for the quarrel between us. But could we eat together to celebrate the New Year just like 8 years ago ” Tears welling up with guilty and sorrow, Uncle stepped toward her, stroke her head and gathered her into his tender embrace. The family was rebuilt and Richard finally admitted his fault and got relieved by Prissy’s concern and devotion.

It’s hard to talk to dads sometimes. The roles we often expect our fathers to play-protector,provider-can make them seem impenetrable(不可理解的). That’s how it was with my dad. He came to Canada at the age of ten and settled in an immigrant community. He was never much of a talker. He rarely drank, so we didn't get to see him loosen up after a few beers. He didn't tell stories about himself at the dinner table or when we went for walks in the park. He was a private person and seemed to want to stay that way.
Bringing up the many questions I had about life before I was born-his early hopes and dreams, loves and heartbreaks--let alone sharing my own feelings, felt like too much for us to handle. I didn't want to threaten the integrity (完整)of his hard shell. I had gotten used to it, and it made me feel secure.
But when my relationship and career took a hit a year ago at the same time, things had to change. I was facing serious questions about my own nature, and I wanted to know that he had faced them too. I needed to know how he had found his way, because I felt like I had lost mine.
In a severe moment of desperation, it occurred to me that sending an email might be the key. An email can be crafted (精心制作)slowly and carefully. I could speak at a comfortable distance and give him room to adjust. He'd be up in his office-a comfortable place filled with bookshelves, dusty CD-ROMs and piles of old newspapers. I'd be at my desk in an apartment 20 minutes away.
So I wrote to him. I told him about my regrets and fears, and I asked him to answer, if he felt like it, and to share something about himself, something that would give me much-needed perspective on my life, especially on relationship and career.
Para1: Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box.
Para2: I closed the email and started to cry.
参考范文:
Para 1: Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box. It was a scanned three-page document. Apparently, my dad had carefully considered my message, reached back into his memory and crafted a response. In the letter, he shared his history of love, longing, self-doubt, fears and struggles in life. He also offered me some practical suggestions on how to handle my relationship and career. While reading, I got the sense that it must have been really tough for my dad to settle down in a new country at an early age. I was also impressed by the great perseverance he showed in the face of difficulty.
Para 2: I closed the email and started to cry. I cried because I wished I had opened up earlier but was grateful it wasn’t too late. I cried because in the midst of my own struggles, his letter instantly put me at ease. And I cried because in the end, it was so simple: I just had to hit “Send”. We’ve since had many exchanges. My problems haven’t been magically solved, but getting to know my dad better – and learning to love him more – has made the tough stuff more manageable and life sweeter. It’s hard to talk to dads sometimes, but I’m glad that I found a way to talk to mine.

A GIFT FOR GRANDPA
Summer vacation was coming. Jack and his brother Berlin were filled with excitement as they thought of visiting their grandparents again.
The big day came at last. After the happy family got ready, they set out for the grandparents' eagerly. On the way, the brothers were excitedly talking about the fun they had with grandparents.
A little blue house with a tall white chimney finally appeared. Behind the property was the forest carrying their good memories with Grandpa. They arrived at the driveway, at the end of which Grandma was waiting for them joyfully.
Jack and Berlin each gave Grandma a big hug and then swept to the living room, shouting excitedly “Grandpa, we are back!”
Seeing his grandsons, Grandpa was wild with joy and tried to get up with all his strength from the chair but in vain. A helpless expression flashed on his face. Grandma explained that his health was declining rapidly and maybe couldn't stand up on his own forever. But Grandpa declared stubbornly(倔强地),“I can!” Certainly, he was stuck in his boyish way. Mum and grandparents were happy to meet again after a long time. They sat together and chatted about what happened recently.
The brothers were soon bored with adult conversation, went out and wandered into the forest. Tall trees stretched up to the heavens with large branches crossing each other, while young ones rose straight like soldiers. Grandpa was once a great explorer full of wisdom. He could tell where the birds came from only by their calls and songs. The trees, birds, lizards, lots of bugs... How many merry moments they spent with Grandpa in the kingdom!
But now Grandpa couldn't get up. This made them worried. “We’d think out a way to cheer him up. “Jack said. “Grandpa is a bird lover, and we can catch him a bird." Berlin suggested. “But he hates birds being caged! ” Jack shook his head.
Then a bright idea came to Jack's mind. "Why not make a cane (拐杖) out of a young tree!"
参考范文
Berlin thought it was a good idea. They set about making a cane for Grandpa immediately.
The moment they chose a young tree of moderate size, they cut it down and then removed the branches and skins with a knife. With a small wood fastened on the top as a handle, a fashionable cane came into being(with复合结构表伴随). To make the handle feel comfortable, they wrapped a soft cloth around it. Berlin, full of innovative ideas, carved (制作拐杖的动作链)words Gift To Grandpa on the cane. What a cool cane!
Jack and Berlin handed the cane to Grandpa. Staring at the fancy cane, Grandpa was so happy with smiles on his face shining like a diamond(高兴的心理描写). He thanked his grandsons for the wonderful gift with affection, "You brothers are really great creators!" Supporting himself with the cane, Grandpa couldn't contain himself and went to the forest step by step.(拐杖发挥作用,爷爷来到森林) Watching the trees and grass around, he emotionally said he would forever cherish the fond moments they were together in the forest(场景复现,共同回忆甜蜜时刻) .

Shoveling the snow had always been the best part about winter. Not that I thought it was fun, but my dad’s reaction to a clean driveway kept me going. He hated shoveling snow more than anything. So, I took it upon myself at eight years old to do it for him. Every time I saw snow fall from the sky, I knew the universe was ready to put me to work.
I would run and put on my jacket, snow boots to prepare myself for the work ahead. But every single time, before I went outside, I would stop by my older sister’s room to see if she wanted to help me. I knew she would say no, but I always asked anyway.
One day there was a lot of snow, and there was no way I would be able to clean it all up myself. It was getting dark, and I hated the thought of my dad having to shovel the snow after along day of work. So I did the routine and knocked on my sister’s door. As I expected, she gave me the same old “no”. Annoyed, I asked again. Without saying anything further, she got up, pushed me out of the room and slammed(平地关上)the door in my face.
I stood there silently for a second. Then, I turned around, went out of the house, and set out in the cold to tackle the enemy that lay in my driveway. But I couldn’t calm down. I was really angry that she would leave me to battle this alone. All I wanted was some help. The more I remembered every “no” she had ever said to me, the angrier I became.
I fought tirelessly, my short arms swinging from side to side while the wind cut against my cheeks. After one long hour, I was not even halfway done. Looking at the victorious snow, I thought of Dad’s disappointment.

My sister and I went outside. ___________________________________________________________________________
范文:
Feeling bitter and desperate, I couldn’t stop my tears. My inner anger was like a growing monster, uncontrollably driving me to the edge of madness. Before I realized it, I was sobbing in my sister’s room, with bullets of words firing through my mouth, expressing my long-buried dissatisfaction towards her absence from my snow shoveling experiences. The house seemed to be holding its breath when I stopped my accusation, still weeping. “Please don’t cry. Every teardrop of yours is a reminder of how selfish I was. I’m sorry. Would you give me another chance to go shoveling with you ”, said my sister with gentleness and sincerity in her voice.
My sister and I went out. More than half of the driveway was still blanketed in white but I wasn’t alone in this battle any more. Every shovel of snow was a witness to the energy and excitement in me. By the time we finished, my back was aching, muscles sore, and body exhausted. However, deep inside me was a brother, who was so overcome with happiness that he felt on top of the world. That was the beauty of companionship. And from the bright smile blooming on my sister’s face, I could tell that she felt the same. Arm in arm, we walked inside as darkness fell, waiting for father to come home.

There is nothing more wonderful than the smell of the Adirondack air! It fills your lungs with purity and freshness that motivates a love for living. Every weekend in the summer, my father would plan a trip from our home in upstate New York to one of the splendid lakes nestled among the tall pines and thick forests of the Adirondack Mountains. There were no favorites , instead, each lake was an adventure to explore and enjoy.
One trip that I will never forget was a visit to Oneida Lake at the foothills of the mountains. After arriving at the lake beach area, we emptied the car of our picnic supplies, towels, blankets and beach chairs, carrying them through a wooded path that seemed like a forever distance.Once we located the perfect picnic spot, my dad, sister and I ran into the splashing waves with our beach ball, leaving my mother behind to"set up". In the lake, we immediately played “monkey in the middle " for at least an hour, and then after retiring the ball, my father let us dive from his knee, throwing us up in the air and turning us over like thick pancakes on a grill. This timeless game went on and on as our begging for “more, more”never stopped.
When we finally tired of our games, my dad stopped to watch my older sister. She loved synchronized swimming (花样游泳)and started practicing skills that her team used in competition. My father, being an athlete himself, was absorbed in her show. I was sad that no one was playing with me: no one was watching me. I became bored and jealous watching her show off. I was in sulk (愤怒 )and decided to swim by myself and try some of my sister’s skills on my own in deeper water, far from both of them. The waves were getting stronger, but I didn't care. I just wanted to do what my sister could do so that I could catch my father’s attention.

Paragraph1 As I took a breath to try a dive, a huge wave swallowed me.
Paragraph2 It was my dad!
参考范文:
One possible version:
As I took a breath to try a dive, a huge wave swallowed me. I choked and then a huge undercurrent swept me deeper beneath the waves. The very thought of dying filled me with a mad panic. I kicked my legs wildly, losing any hope for a breath. I remember trying to stand up, but the sandy bottom had disappeared. As I came up searching for the surface, struggling for oxygen, sputtering to clear my lungs, I felt a firm grasp on my arm and a pull to safety.
It was my dad! He hugged me tightly and carried me back to a place where I could stand. There was no scolding, just a big hug and smile because he knew I was all right. He had been watching me all along! He had never taken his eye off me, even as he had the other eye on my sister. He had protected me. Being told by someone that you are loved is great, but experiencing that love is awesome. Without his watching over me, without his loving me, I would not be the strong woman I am today.

That December, with Christmas approaching, my mother was out at work when I let myself into her bedroom one afternoon in search of a safety pin. I took the key hidden under the carpet, unlocked the door stepped in. Standing against the wall was a big, black bicycle with balloon tires. I recognized it instantly. It was the same second-hand bike I'd been admiring in a Baltimore Street shop window. Somehow my mother must have scraped together enough for a down payment and meant to surprise me with the bicycle on Christmas morning.
I was deeply moved by the discovery and yet sickened by the knowledge that, bursting into her room like this I had robbed her of the pleasure of seeing me astonished and delighted on Christmas day. I immediately backed out, put the key back in its hiding place, and thought over what to do.
I decided that between now and Christmas I must do absolutely nothing to reveal the slightest hint of my terrible knowledge. Nothing must deny her the happiness of seeing me completely amazed on Christmas day. I even started practicing my surprised face in front of the mirror, testing exclamations of delight:"Wow!""A bike with balloon tires! I don't believe it!" The day finally came when Christmas arrived. My mother woke me and my sister early in the morning. "Go see what Santa Claus brought to you."

My heart sank as if being splashed by cold water. Slowly I opened my package, only to see a shirt lying inside. What I felt was bitter displeasure. What happened to my bicycle I couldn't help thinking my mom had found the bike just too expensive and eventually sent it back. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes as ] clenched the shirt.
I was about to go into my room disappointedly with the shirt when my mom cried behind me, "Wait! There's something in my bedroom I forgot all about." She went to her room, and a moment later came back wheeling the big black bicycle with balloon tires. I didn't have to pretend the excitement and surprise as the bicycle came into my sight. I threw my arms around my mom and kissed her spontaneously. "Thank you mom! This is the best Christmas gift I've ever had!" A brilliant grin bloomed on my mom's face as she held me tightly. Hiding her pleasure of seeing my surprised face, she said, "All right now, it's only a bicycle.”

As a country music song goes, “She’s a wild one with an angel’s face.” That is my younger sister, Lulu. When I think of her, I think of trying to tame a wild horse.
It is hard to find words to describe my relationship with Lulu. “All-out nuclear warfare”
could not interpret it quite exactly. The irony is that we are very much alike: we share the hot-tempered and fast-forgiving personality.
Speaking of personalities, the Chinese Zodiac ( 属 相 ) describes Lulu and me perfectly. People born in the Pig Year are “stubborn” and “tough” and often “fly into anger,” although they “never harbour a grudge (记仇)” as they are honest and warm-hearted. That is Lulu and I exactly, with an age gap of twelve years.
I had my first face-off with Lulu when she was about five. It was a freezing winter afternoon in New Haven, Connecticut. Mum and Dad were at work. Babysitting Lulu at home, I decided that it would be the perfect time to introduce Lulu to the piano as I was in the learning process myself.
Excited about working together — with her brown curls, round eyes, and China doll face, Lulu was desperately cute – I put her on the piano bench, on top of some comfortable pillows. I then demonstrated how to play a single note with a single finger, and asked her to do the same. A small request, but Lulu refused, preferring instead to smash at many notes at the same time with two open palms. When I asked her to stop, she smashed harder and faster. When I tried to pull her away from the piano, she began yelling, crying, and kicking angrily.
Fifteen minutes later, she was still yelling, crying, and kicking, and I had had it! Avoiding her blows, I dragged the screaming demon (恶魔) to our back door, and threw it open. The wind chill was six degrees below zero, and my own face hurt from just a few seconds exposure to the icy air.

But I was determined to teach the little wild one a lesson. "You can't stay in the house if you don't listen to me." I said sternly. Instead of being obedient, Lulu stepped outside, facing me in a challenging way. A dull dread began seeping through my body - the little one was wearing only her sweater and tights. "Okay, you've decided to behave," I said quickly. “Come. now." However. Lulu shook her head with a stubborn look in her eyes. "Don't be silly, Lulu." I was panicking. “It`s freezing. You're going to get e in now."
Lulu's teeth were clicking repeatedly together because of cold, but she shook her head again It suddenly dawned on me that I had underestimated Lulu. She would rather freeze to death than give in. My mind racing, I changed tactics immediately, begging and bribing Lulu to come back into the house. When Mum and Dad arrived home, they found Lulu contentedly soaking in a hot bath. dipping a biscuit in a steaming cup of hot chocolate, desperately cute. Anyway, I love Lulu. a similar wild one with an angel's face.
2021年9 月 嘉兴模拟考续写 “与父亲第一次野鸭狩猎”
His father said, “All set, boy ” and Jeremy nodded, picking up his gun with awkward gloved hands. His father pushed open the door and they went out into the freezing dawn together. Ordinarily Jeremy would take out his camera to record the scenery, but not this morning. This was the morning, particularly sacred, when 14-year-old Jeremy would go duck hunting for the first time.
However, he hated it, and had hated the whole idea since his father bought him a gun. But he was determined to go through with it. He loved his father, and wanted his approval more than anything in the world.
They came to a narrow and hidden place facing the bay. Jeremy sat down nervously and waited. To reduce fear, he took a picture of his father against the clean water. Then he put the camera hurriedly on the grass and picked up his gun.
Jeremy got his gun ready. “I'll let you shoot first,” his father said, loading his own gun. “You know, I've been waiting for a long time for this day. Just the two of us..."He broke off, bending forward, eyes narrowed. “There's a small flight heading this way now. Keep your head down. I'll give you the word.”
The sun came out. Jeremy could see everything clearly: his father's face, tense and eager; the white frost on the gun. His heart was beating wildly. He prayed, “Don't let them come, please!”
But they kept coming. "Four black,” his father said. “One mallard (绿头鸭).” High above, Jeremy heard the pulsing whistle of wings as the flight began to circle. The mallard was leading, his feet dropping down, reaching for the silver-colored water. Closer, closer... “Get set,” his father whispered.
“Now!” cried Jeremy's father. “Take them!”
Jeremy felt his body obey. He stood up, holding the gun. In the same instant, the wild ducks saw the gunners and flew. “Shoot!” said something sharply in Jeremy's brain. But up went the mallard higher still, until suddenly he caught the full force of the wind and flew away, out of range.

Paragraph 1: His father asked in a controlled voice, “Why didn't you shoot ” Judging from his expression, it was evident that he was about to explode. Jeremy dropped his head down, tense and speechless. At the thought of losing his father’s approval, a sense of failure overcome him and surged through him, tears falling onto the silent ground. “Son, tell me what’s the matter ” murmured the father, gathering Jeremy into his arms “You like duck hunting, don’t you ”. Jeremy explained that he didn’t like hunting at all and how excited it was to stroll with him and take photos as usual, then up went the boy’s head, through his misty eyes, he witnessed his father turning and leaving.
Paragraph 2: To Jeremy's surprise, his father was handing the camera to him. “Sorry, I thought you were fond of hunting just like me.” apologized the father, putting the camera on the boy’s palms. Eyes glinting and lips curving into a big smile, the boy was jumping with joy, taking a picture of his father and the charming scenery. Having taking away the gun, the father bathed in the warm glow of radiant sunshine. He could hear the chirps of the birds and laughter from his son. It suddenly dawned on him that he was full of himself in showing his love to his son.

They planned to make French toast and chicken porridge. They had watched their mother in the kitchen. There was nothing to it. Jenna and Jeff knew exactly what to do.
The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 a.m. The pair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. They decided to boil the porridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boil while they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added in some milk. Jema found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next, Jef turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everything was going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot and the bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into the sink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fire so it cooked nicely.
Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put out the fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gas quickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jef to clean it up so they could continue to cook the rest of the porridge. But Jeff's hand touched the hot burner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear! The piece of bread in the pan had turned black as well.

As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared. One look and he knew what they were up to. Seeing their discouraged faces, he told them to clean up the kitchen while he helped them make breakfast for Mother. The twins cheered up and did as told. Within an hour, the kitchen was cleaned, and Father had successfully made some French toast and chicken porridge as the children wished. Then he sneaked back to bed. The twins prepared the breakfast tray, added a card they had made, and then headed for their parents' bedroom.
The twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up. "Happy Mother's Day, darling Mummy!" thrilled voice yelling from their throat, the twins hugged their mom tightly. Moved and excited, mother held the twins with her warm arms as well. Her eyes widened at the sight of the breakfast tray. She shook father who was pretending to snore. He whistled in astonishment when seeing the breakfast. Mother bit into a sandwich and said she had never tasted a better one. Jeff immediately wanted to have a bite. Jenna caught her father's eye and they winked at each other secretly.
