I. Teaching objectives
(1) Knowledge Objectives
a) Students can read and spell some words like：invent, progress, unusual, improve, and achieve 90% of all student's dictation accuracy.
b) students can integrate and apply present perfect tense sentence structure to create sentence.
(2) Ability Objectives;
Students can understand the passage and obtain information about the American Computer Museum, the International Museum of Toilets, and the Hangzhou National Tea Museum, and be
familiar with the language style and development of the article
(3) Emotional Objectives;
Students can understand the cultural differences between domestic and foreign museums, enhance cultural confidence and broaden international vision.
II. Teaching Contents
This is a reading lesson, through three students introduce their own experience of visiting museums, to tell the difference between domestic and foreign museums. By reading this lesson, students can obtain information about museum at this article that students are interested in and second year students lack experience in foreign museums.
III. Key and difficult points
Key point: students can master the key vocabulary, and present perfect tense sentence structures of This lesson, and summarize the structure of the article.
Difficult point: students can experience the cultural differences between domestic and foreign museums.
IV. Major Steps:
Step l: Lead in
After greeting students, the teacher shows pictures of famous museums and asked students about their experiences and feelings when visiting museums.
(justifications: The pictures will activate students known language and stimulate reading interest.)
Step 2: Pre-reading:
1.The teacher guides students to learn key vocabulary like: invent, progress, unusual, improve and sentence structures in articles.
2.The teacher asks students about the vocabulary they are learning and the present perfect sentence structure to make sentence.
(Justification: Through above activities, students will be prepared to read and can understand the material better.)
Step 3: While-reading
Skimming
The teacher shows the form to the students and asks them to summarize the information and fill in the form.
Name Situation Theme
Intensive reading
Students should read again, pay attention to the language and development of the article, and analyze the information in each paragraph. Teacher divides students in groups.
(Justification: Through these activities, students will get both main idea and details of the passage. Meanwhile, their reading abilities will be improved.)
Step 4: Post-reading
Each group will choose one representative to show his/her own experience after discussion.
Step 5: Homework
Retell the passage after class.
Search for more information about interesting museums in other countries and share with others in the next class.
(Justification: Reviewing the important knowledge in this lesson can deepen students impression and help them form good learning habits.)
