一、教学目标
1.知识目标：掌握下列单词和短语: earthquake,warn,keep clear of,calm,brave, helpful, power 等
2.能力目标：读懂介绍地震中自我保护的文章.
3.情感目标：学会在地震中如何保护自己并学以致用.
二、教学重点、难点
1. 理解关于地震和相应急救措施的文章，并围绕该要点展开听、说、读、写各项训练，进而培养学生综合运用语言的能力。
2. 如何将学到的内容运用到实际生活当中。
三、教学过程

设计意图：由汶川地震时某学校真实视频导入本课话题。
Step 2: Leading in
(1)What may happen in an earthquake
present the new words:shake-shaking,fall down,power lines, broken,falling rocks, keep calm, be brave and helpful.
(2)How should we protect ourselves in an earthquake
设计意图：(1)谈论有关地震发生时的图片，学习生词，为下一步学习课文打好铺垫。
(2)引入本篇课文

地震突发给人们带来很大的伤害，本课内容实用又容易引起学生兴趣。在教学过程中，要注意根据教材内容，拓展学生思维，让学生联想实际生活中地震发生时，我们应该采取的自救措施，并培养学生的逻辑思维能力，注意引导他们由室内到室外，由近及远的顺序来谈论，同时，掌握祈使句的用法，能听懂指令并会用祈使句给出指令。
