Step 1 Warming up
Lead in Ask the Ss to watch a video. Then answer the following questions. How many kinds of animals are there on Old Macdonald’s farm Which animals have the “moo” sound Where can we see more animals Show the picture of a zoo to the Ss, then greet to them. Welcome to the zoo! Show some pictures to the Ss, then ask the Ss the question. Step 2 Presentation & Practice
Pre-listening Ask the Ss to answer the following questions. Post-listening Ask the Ss to Practice the conversation with your partner. Then make conversations about the other animals in 1a. Step 3 Language points learning
1. —Why do you want to see them 你为什么想看它们？ —Because they’re interesting. 因为它们有趣。 why引导的特殊疑问句 【用法详解】why引导的特殊疑问句常用来询问原因。其结构为“Why+一般疑问句 ”，常用because引导的句子来回答，why为疑问副词，意为“为什么”。 —Why do you like P.E. 你为什么喜欢体育？ —Because it is exciting. 因为它令人兴奋。 because的用法 【用法详解】because 在此处作连词，意为“因为”，后接句子，表示原因，常用来回答why引导的特殊疑问句。 —Why don’t you like the film 你为什么不喜欢这部电影？ —Because it is kind of boring. 因为它有点儿无聊。 【易错警示】在英语中，because(因为)和so(所以)不能同时出现在一个句子里。 我不想买这件毛衣，因为它太贵了。 ( × ) Because the sweater is too expensive, so I don’t want to buy it. ( √ ) I don’t want to buy the sweater because it is too expensive. ( √ ) The sweater is too expensive, so I don’t want to buy it.
Step 4 Summary & Homework
Summary Ask the Ss to do the exercises on PPT P35-P37. Homework Preview the conversation in 2d. Do the exercises in students’ book. The homework can vary with the specific conditions.
Teaching Reflection This is the first period of the unit.So it is important to get the students to know what they will learn in this unit and their learning goals. At the beginning the teacher should introduce all kinds of activities and get the students to practice it in listening and speaking. The teacher should encourage students to practice using the target structure more.
