Step 1 Warming up
Ask the Ss to watch a video. Then answer the questions. What’s the girl doing She is washing her face. What is she doing She is eating. What is he doing He is running. 现在进行时表示现在(说话瞬间)正在进行或发生的动作。现在进行时由“助动词be+v-ing（现在分词）”构成。 Lead in Do you know what they are doing Ask the Ss to look at the pictures on PPT P10-P15, then answer the following questions. —What’s the boy doing —He is watching TV. —What are they doing —They’re cleaning. —What’s he doing —He is reading a newspaper. —What’s he doing —He is using the computer. —What’s he doing —He is making soup. —What’s she doing —She’s washing the dishes. Look at the picture on PPT P16. Talk about what the people are doing and practice the conversation. —What are you doing —I’m watching TV.

Your photo is in the newspaper. 看！你的照片上报纸了。 There is a cup of coffee on the newspaper. 有一杯咖啡压在报纸上。 2. talking on the phone 通过电话交谈 on the phone 通过电话 【用法详解】on the phone为固定用法，其中介词on意为 “通过，使用”。含on的此类短语还有： on the radio 通过收音机 on the computer 在电脑上 on TV 在电视上 on the Internet 在互联网上 Susan is talking with Jenny on the phone. 苏珊正在和珍妮通电话。 3. What are you doing 你正在做什么？ 现在进行时的特殊疑问句 【用法详解】本句为现在进行时的特殊疑问句，询问目前正在发生什么事情或正在进行什么动作，其结构为“What + be + 主语 + 动词-ing形式 ”。 What are they doing 他们正在做什么？ What is Lily doing 莉莉正在做什么？ 4. I’m watching TV. 我正在看电视。 现在进行时的陈述句 【用法详解】本句为现在进行时的陈述句，也是对现在进行时的特殊疑问句的回答，用来描述现在正在进行的动作。其结构为 “主语 + be + 动词-ing形式 + 其他”。变否定时在be后加not即可。 The students are listening to the teacher. 学生们正在听老师讲话。 He isn’t washing the dishes. He is watching TV. 他没在洗餐具，他正在看电视。
Step 4 Summary & Homework
Summary Ask the Ss to do the exercises on PPT P29-P31. Homework Preview the conversation in 2d. Do the exercises in students’ book. The homework can vary with the specific conditions.
Teaching Reflection This is the first period of the unit. So it is important to get the students to know what they will learn in this unit and their learning goals. At the beginning the teacher should teach them all kinds of activities and get the students to practice it in listening and speaking. The teacher should encourage students to practice using the target structure more.
