Ask the Ss to wach a video Weather song on PPT P5. Show some photos to the Ss, then talk about the weather. 1. How’s the weather in Shanghai 上海的天气怎么样？ weather n. 天气 weather是不可数名词，前面可加定冠词the。 询问天气的句型 “How’s the weather ”意为“天气怎么样？”，该句型用来询问天气，其后可接时间或地点状语，同义句为“What’s the weather like ”。答语常为“(It’s+)表示天气状况的形容词.”或“It’s + v-ing.”。 it可用来指代天气，在句中可不译为中文。要根据上下文理解。 e.g. It is windy. (天气)在刮风。 e.g. It’s cold today. 今天很冷 It's raining 正在下雨。 rain v. 下雨 n. 雨水 （1）rain在此作动词，意为“下雨”。 It often rains in summer. 夏天经常下雨。 It’s raining in Guangzhou. 广州正在下雨。 （2）rain还可作不可数名词，意为“雨水”。 There is a lot of rain here every year。这里每年雨水都很多。 【拓展延伸】 rain的形容词为rainy（多雨的），可作定语和表语。 It was rainy yesterday. 昨天下雨了。（作表语） I love rainy weather. 我喜欢雨天。 （作定语） Summary How's the weather in +城市 =What’s the weather like in +城市 sunny. cloudy. —It's windy. raining / rainy. snowing / snowy.

Summary Ask the Ss to do the exercises on PPT P26-P27. Homework Preview the conversation in 2d. Do the exercises in students’ book. The homework can vary with the specific conditions.
Teaching Reflection This is the first period of the unit. So it is important to get the students to know what they will learn in this unit and their learning goals. At the beginning the teacher should teach them the words about weather. And get the students to practice them in listening and speaking. The teacher should encourage students to practice using the target language more.
