教学目标 By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 语言能力:master key vocabulary and sentence patterns;master the usage of modal verb can, as well as its positive sentence, negative sentence and general interrogative sentence structure 2. 学习能力:read the dialogue carefully to understand the details and improve your reading ability; transfer and transform the usage of positive sentences, negative sentences and general interrogatives of modal verbs can in the practice and production part, actively participate in dialogue exercises, and improve listening and speaking ability. 3. 文化意识:perceive and experience the club culture, improve self-awareness and understanding, and know how to choose the right club for your abilities. 4. 思维品质:use previous knowledge to infer the relationship between positive sentences, negative sentences and general questions to improve thinking skills.

Lead in (3’)
Step 1 T greets students. Then T invites to Ss watch a video . And then T asks a question “What are they talking about ” Last, T shows the answer to them in PPT. Ss watch a video and then think about question and then actively answer T. Video can arose students’ scheme and create an active classroom atmosphere.

Presentation (15’)
Step 2 T asks Ss to read the passage quickly to get an idea of what the conversation is about. Ss read conversation quickly and to think about the main idea. It can practice Ss’s ability of skimming.
Step 3 T asks Ss to read conversation and lets them answer the following questions: What club does Bob want to join Does Jane speak English well What sports can Bob play What club does Jane will join A. English club B. Art club C. Both A and B Ss read conversation and answer the questions. Conversations in 2d provides a good context for grammar learning so reading them can help Ss firstly know the grammar rules or phenomena and also improve their reading ability.
Step 4 T teaches Ss the affirmative with the modal verb can and then asks Ss to think about the sentence patterns of negative sentences and general questions. After that, T teaches them. Ss grasp the sentence patterns of affirmative, negative sentences and general questions by learning from teacher and learn from previous same knowledge. Using previous same knowledge to grasp the sentence patterns with modal verb can can practice Ss’s thinking ability.
Step 5 T plays a game with Ss to advance their understanding. Ss plays a game to advance their understanding. Games can attract Ss and create active classroom atmosphere.
Step 6 T plays the tape and asks Ss to read the conversation after the tape. Ss read the conversation after the tape. It can improve Ss’s ability of listening and speaking.

Practice (10’)
Step 7 T asks Ss to finish the exercises in textbook-3a & 3b and then ask Ss to practice the conversations with the desk mates and invites some of Ss to show their results. Ss finish the exercises and then practice the conversations with the desk mates and actively show their results in front of the whole class. Exercise can help test students' knowledge of this class. Then Practicing conversation can strengthen their ability of speaking and listening. Showing can improve Ss’ confidence in speaking English

Production (8’)
Step 8 T asks Ss to finish the task in 3c with partner by using the the words and sentences in grammar focus. T helps Ss to lay out the questions for survey. T invites some Ss to show their results of survey with the whole class by using the given examples. Ss finish the task in 3c in groups and show their results in front of the whole class. It can enhance Ss’ controlling of today’s knowledge. And the group work can help Ss to improve their communicating ability and their cooperative spirit of group.

Exercise (5’)
Step 9 T asks Ss to finish the exercises on ppt. Ss finish the exercises on ppt. Practice in time can help test students' knowledge of this class.
