Step 1 Lead-in
1.Show the pictures about table manners in France and get the students to look at them.And ask the following questions:
(1)What are they about
(2)How much do you know about table manners in France
(3)Do you want to know more
2.Encourage the students to talk about the questions as much as possible.After the students' free talk,say “Let's come to Section B 2a.”

Step 2 Discussion(2a)
Ask students to think about the customs in foreign countries and then talk about the biggest challenge when visiting a foreign country with their partners.

Step 3 Reading(2b~2d)
●Before reading
Ask students to skip the passage and silently to find the general idea.

●While reading
1.Read the passage quickly and answer the four key questions in 2b.
(1)Why is Lin Yue in France
(2)Does she enjoy staying with her host family?How do you know
(3)How does she feel about making mistakes when she speaks French
(4)What is the biggest challenge she is facing
2.Replace the underlined words with the phrases in 2c.Make sure students know what to do.
3.Read the letter carefully and make notes about French customs in the chart in 2d.

You're not supposed to put your bread on your plate. Now I'm used to it. I found it difficult to remember everything,but I'm gradually getting used to it.
