Unit 12 Life is full of the unexpected.
Period Ⅰ　Section A(1a～2d)
1．学习使用一般过去时和过去完成时的语法结构。
2．学习使用含有过去完成时的句型结构。
1．能听懂含有一般过去时和过去完成时这两种主要语法结构的对话内容。
2．能够用适当的时态叙述过去发生的事情。
3．通过学习使学生认识到生活中充满了许多出乎意料的事件，培养学生辩证地看待问题。
1．重点：
(1)熟练掌握本课重点单词和短语。
(2)能够用适当的时态叙述过去发生的事情。
2．难点：初步感知一般过去时和过去完成时的区别，并能用过去时态叙述过去发生的事情。
Step 1　Lead－in
T：What do you usually do in the morning before school
S1：I usually get up，brush my teeth，take a shower，…
T：Do you like mornings Why or why not

创造真实的语言环境，师生互动交流，谈论自己早晨做的事情，由此导入新课。
Step 2　Work on 1a～1c
1a：Discuss what happened to Mary in the pictures and learn some new words.
1b：Play the recording for the students to listen to 1b and complete it.Play it again if necessary，and then check the answers together.
1c：Take turns being Mary and talk about what happened this morning.Then ask them to do the pair work to make other conversations.After that，some pairs should be asked to present their conversations to the class.
围绕五幅图片通过看图说话、听力及对话展开，引入本单元的语法结构——过去完成时。
Step 3　Listening(2a～2b)
2a：Listen to Mary continue her story.Number the pictures [1－4] in the correct order.
1．Show PPT or pictures.Ask questions：Where is Mary in the pictures？Is anything good or bad happening to her？What is it about
2．Play the recording for the first time.Number the pictures in 2a.And ask some students to say their answers.
2b：Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets.Then listen again and check the answers.
1．Read the sentences in 2b.Play the recording again.Students listen and complete the sentences.
2．Play the recording once more.Check the answers with the whole class.Read aloud the sentences.Then students listen and repeat.
在语境中呈现和描述“过去的过去”的动作，帮助学生加深目标语言的学习。
Step 4　Work on 2c
Work in pairs and make up an ending for the story.
1．Read and role－play the conversation.Then get students to retell the story about Mary.
2．Students tell the end of the story.First discuss in groups and then share it in class.
通过口语训练，实现对在听力中输入的目标语言的训练，提高英语交际能力。
Step 5　Role－play the conversation in 2d
1．Listen to the conversation and answer the following questions：Why was Kevin late for class How did Kevin get to school
2．Read the dialogue carefully and find out the key phrases.
go off，wake up，put on，rush out，eat breakfast，brush my teeth，wash my face，get to，give me a lift
3．Read after the tape.
4．Read the conversation aloud in pairs.
5．Role－play the conversation in pairs.Then perform it in front of the whole class.
通过听力和阅读训练，培养学生获取信息的能力；分组朗读训练和分角色表演对话，既提高了口语表达能力，又使所学语言知识得到有效的输出。
Step 6　Homework
1．Remember the words and phrases in this lesson.
2．Retell the story about Mary's morning.
3．Get the students to write the events in 2d in the correct order.Then rewrite 2d into a short text.
