It was the first time I met a seal(海豹), the most mysterious(神秘的) animal for me in the world. I jumped into the cold water to take a closer look. Immediately, she swam toward me and tried to threaten me by putting my camera and much of my head into her mouth. I tried not to show any fear. After a few seconds, she let go of my head and swam away.
Then she came back with a live penguin. The penguin was for me. Of course, I didn't eat the penguin, and I think the seal was very disappointed. The seal thought I was just another seal, I realized. One most important thing in a seal's life is eating. So perhaps this seal was worried about me. She didn't want me to go hungry. She brought me some more penguins. She even tried to show me how to eat them. The seal tried to push penguins into my camera because she thought the camera was my mouth!
I understood that she was trying to feed me. But I think that she was really trying to communicate with me. By now, she didn't seem very dangerous. She stayed by me and tried to feed me for four days. One time, she noticed another seal come up behind me. She made a deep, warning sound and scared the other seal away. She then took that seal's penguin and gave it to me.
Those four days were the most unbelievable experience I ever had as a wildlife photographer, because I got some amazing pictures. I also learned that animals do not always behave the way we expect. My relationship with this powerful and smart animal will stay with me forever.

Known for its skyscrapers（摩天大楼) and megamalls, Singapore is perhaps not so well-known for its abundance of trees. But according to a new study, it ranks top in the world for urban tree density (密度).
According to the study, almost 30% of the city-state is covered by trees, which is nearly 4% more than joint second-place cities Sydney, Australia and Vancouver, Canada. The study was completed by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) and has measured the urban green canopy (天蓬似的树荫)of 17 key cities around the world using Google Street View data. Of the 17 cities, Paris has the fewest trees with only 8.8% of its urban area covered by greenery. “The green canopy is an important and integral part of urban(都市的) life. Trees help mitigate extreme temperatures, provide a natural relief(缓解) from traffic jam and noise, and improve the quality of life for those living in urban environments,”says Treepedia, the website which hosts the findings of the study. The project has the aim of encouraging city planners and residents to do more to promote greenery in their cities.
Nicknamed (绰号)the City in a Garden, Singapore’s top place spot is no surprise. Parks such as the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, the Botanic Gardens and the newer Gardens by the Bay super park — home to around 400,000 plants—have no doubt contributed to its winning place. The city also has a considerable number of roof gardens and “skyrise” greenery on the front wall of buildings—in fact this type of greenery alone has increased from 61 hectares( 公顷)in 2013 to 72 hectares in 2015. Singapore’s National Parks Board also manages around two million individual trees along streets, and in parks.

　M: At dawn on January 17th, 1995, the city of Kobe was rocked by earthquake tremors. The worst tremors reach 7. 2 on the Richter scale. Kobe is Japan’s sixth largest city. It is also one of the world’s largest ports. Within minutes, Kobe was a disaster area.
How bad was the damage The earthquake was the worst to hit Japan in 72 years. There were more than 6,000 people dead. More than 35,000 were injured, and nearly 310,000 were left homeless. Some 75,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed. Total damage was estimated at $90 billion.
What did people learn from the Kobe earthquake What happened in Kobe suggests that the earthquake hazard was not taken seriously enough. Some people believe that more can be done to reduce the damage. They propose the following. More work should be put into quake-proof buildings. Walls should be built to protect towns on the coast from large waves. Providers of emergency services must be better trained and better prepared. Citizens must be better educated on what to do when an earthquake strikes.
The major barrier to doing more is cost. Japan finds itself trying to balance the cost against the risk of a strong earthquake
