Unit 5 Honesty
Teaching aims:
Knowledge aim:
Enable Ss to learn and know these useful phrases and expressions: stay away from, run away from, tell lies, throw away, fly with wind, sit up, tell the truth, not ---any more, take on, lie down, go out, take back, come to oneself, that’ all.
2. Abilities aim: Train the students reading ability.
3. Emotional aim: To develop good habits of students' autonomous, learning awareness of group cooperation.
Important point: Train Ss’ reading skills.
Difficulty point: Understand the real meaning of the useful phrases and the text.

Step1 Greeting
Step 2 Lead in
T: last class we talked about the cheating behaviors in exam. All of us thought it ‘s bad behaviors and promised not to cheat in the exam. You are good boys and girls. Now I’d like to ask: Have you cheat others like your mother, father, friends or teachers (show on screen)
Ss: Examine their behaviors.
T: Maybe you’ll fell shame to answer the question, let’s put it aside first. Now I’ll tell you a story.
Ss: Listen to the story. Guess it.
T: Yes, wolf ‘s coming. We all heard of the story when we were very young. Adults hope that their kids will not tell lies and be an honest person. Today we are going to learn a story we all may experienced --- Whose Fault
Step3 Fast reading
1, Listening
T: Now let’s listen to the tape without looking at anything. And think of: “ Who do you think is dishonest, Bill or Joe ”
Ss: listen to the tape and answer the question.
2, Fast reading
T: The story text can be divided into 3 parts please fast read the text to find the main idea of each part and do a matching game on the screen.
Task1: (show on screen)
Task2: Fast read the story and answer the questions on the book Reading Comprehension.
Ss: Do fast reading task.
T: Check answers by asking volunteers to share their answers. (show answers on screen)
Step4 Careful reading
T: Good job, everyone. Now I’ll give you more time to read the text carefully, you should read it sentence by sentence to understand the text better, underline the phrases which are new to you at the same time. and then finish my tasks on the screen. Let ‘s begin with the first part from paragraph 1 to paragraph 4.

Task: Put the statements in right order according to part 1

T: Collect something I want to say on the screen.
If we aren’t honest in work, we won’t make great achievement finally.
If we aren’t honest in exam, we won’t learn more knowledge.
If we aren’t honest to others, we won’t make real friends.
Let’s come to the question at the beginning of the class: Have you cheat others like your mother, father, friends or teachers To tell your parents about a mistake you’ve made; Tell the truth to you friends or teachers. (as homework)
