Traveling can be expensive. But there are some ways to save money when traveling. Try some of the advice below on your next vacation and your wallet will thank you.

Don’t get the best room. How long will you stay in your room Will you just be sleeping there Do you really need a bigger room with a good view (景色)
Find a hotel outside a city. It can help you save some money by choosing a hotel away from big tourist attractions, for you are always doing the same — go to the attractions and then return to your hotel to sleep.
Book (预订) a room with a kitchen. Although some people might not like to cook while on vacation, I don’t mind making breakfast in my room. You may not know a lot of people when you start senior high school. Maybe your friends from junior high school are going to a different senior high school. Even if you know other freshmen (一年级学生 ), you still feel anxious that you don’t know any upperclassmen. How are you going to make friends among this sea of unknown faces
Most senior high schools hold the freshman orientation (迎新会) before school actually starts. It is helpful because you not only learn your way around the building but also get to meet some of your teachers and fellow freshmen. That way, when you show up on your first day of school, you may already recognize a few familiar faces.
When you talk to people at orientation, you’ll probably find that a lot of them are feeling just like you are. They’re all new to the school and don’t know what to expect. Talking about a common concern (关注) with your classmates can help you develop friendships.
The work in senior high school is something freshmen are probably worried about. It builds on what you learned in junior high school, giving you a more advanced (高深的) knowledge of many subjects. So you may find you have more work to do or that it’s a bit more challenging. If you ever find your work too difficult, teachers can give you extra help.
Senior high school also has more after-school activities than junior high school, such as clubs, music and theater groups and sports teams. This is a good time to explore your interests and try new things.
Junior high school taught you the basics of time management and social skills while providing you with a little extra support and guidance. Senior high school gives you the chance to learn how to be more independent and responsible.
24. How do the freshmen usually feel on their first day of senior high school
A. Proud. B. Curious. C. Excited. D. Nervous.
25. What are freshmen probably worried about
A. The ability to make friends. B. The learning task.
C. The freshman orientation. D. The relationship with teachers.
26. What do after-school activities mainly help students to do
A. Develop their interests. B. Develop friendships.
C. Build up their strength. D. Improve their learning ability.
27. What is the last paragraph mainly about
A. What you’ll learn in senior high school.
B. What you learned in junior high school.
C. The difference between junior high school and senior high school.
D. The importance of being more independent and responsible.

By 2019, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) had founded for 70 years. Over the past decades, many people had made great contributions to the country’s development. Zhang Fuqing was a soldier in the People’s Liberation Army during the Liberation War. He was twice awarded the title of Combat Hero. In 1955, he volunteered to work in a remote (偏远的) county in Hubei province and has been helping poor people there ever since. Hundreds of millions have rolled up their sleeves for the COVID-19 vaccine, but why haven’t they rolled up their pants instead What’s the science behind why we get most vaccines in our arm
Most vaccines are given in the muscle—this is known as an intramuscular injection (肌肉注射). Some vaccines are given orally. Others are given just beneath the skin.
But why is the muscle so important, and does location matter
Muscles make an excellent vaccine administration (药物的施用) site because muscle tissue contains important immune cells. These immune cells recognize the antigen(抗原), a tiny piece of a virus or bacteria introduced by the vaccine that stimulates an immune response. In the case of the COVID-19 vaccine the immune cells in the muscle tissue pick up these antigens and present them to the lymph nodes(淋巴结). Injecting the vaccine into muscle tissue keeps the vaccine localized, allowing immune cells to sound the alarm to other immune cells and get to work. Once a vaccine is recognized by the immune cells in the muscle, these cells carry the antigen to lymph vessels, which transport the antigen-carrying immune cells into the lymph nodes. Lymph nodes, important parts of our immune system, contain more immune cells that recognize the antigens in vaccines and start the immune process of creating antibodies.
Muscle tissue also tends to keep vaccine reactions localized. Injecting a vaccine into the deltoid (三角肌) muscle may result in local inflammation(发炎) or soreness at the injection site. If certain vaccines are injected into fat issue, the chance of painful redness or swelling increases because fat tissue has poor blood supply, leading to poor absorption of some vaccine components.
Yet another deciding factor in vaccine administration location is the size of the muscle. Adults and children aged three and older tend to receive vaccines in their upper arm in the deltoid. Younger children receive their vaccines mid-thigh(大腿) because their arm muscles are smaller and less developed.
Another consideration during vaccine administration is convenience and patient acceptability. Can you imagine taking down your pants at a clinic with strangers around Rolling up your sleeve is much easier and more preferred.
32. How many reasons are mentioned for the vaccines given in the muscle
A. 2 B. 3 C. 4 D. 5
33. Why do muscles make a good vaccine administration site
A. Muscles can easily recognize bacteria.
B. Muscle tissue stimulates immune responses.
C. Muscle tissue contains vital immune cells.
D. Muscles can prevent reproduction of viruses.
34. What could be a result of injecting vaccines into fat issues
A. Poor blood supply. B. Better absorption.
C. Rapid fat loss. D. Local pain.
35. Where is the passage most likely taken from
A. an advertisement B. a journal
C. a speech D. a novel

Throughout our lives, we have encountered a lot of people that have influenced us in some sense. Their effect may be for one day or a lifetime. Often, you don’t realize how much influence someone has made on you until a particular moment. The man who made a big influence on me was my father.
Three months after turning fourteen my life was great. I was getting settled into a high school; my grades were already getting better and I was making friends.
One day, when I got back from school, I went to the sitting room and saw my parents having a conversation. They came up to me and asked me to take a seat, because they wanted to say something very important. I soon found out that my dad’s liver(肝脏) was failing and he needed an immediate transplant(器官移植). I was surprised and bewildered(不知所措的) because my father looked all right. He worked, and he didn’t seem ill. My parents said I shouldn’t be afraid, because it was going to be all right. Four months had gone by, and my father had yet to get a new liver. It looked as if his body was steadily worsening, but he kept saying, “Dear, everything will be just fine.”
It was becoming difficult for me and my family. My father had to give up work, and my mother was the sole breadwinner(养家糊口的人). I had to bear the responsibilities of cleaning up the house making food, and looking after my father when my mother was at work. I had to limit my time with my friends, because my father started coming in and out of the hospital. My concentration on the subject was beginning to slip away. So were my grades. Two days before my school spring break, my mother got a phone call from the hospital, saying my father had an accident and was in hospital. What surprised me was that my father wasn’t injured at all. Then the next day, my mother got a phone call from the doctor saying that there was a liver that matched my dad’s body and that he needed to get to the hospital immediately.

1.续写词数应为 150左右;

【解析】
【原文】W: Elephant art began at zoos in the United States. Zookeepers there saw an elephant named Ruby using a stick to make marks in the dirt. They bought paints and brushes for her, and soon she was painting. In a book about Ruby, author Dick George says she loved to paint, and she even chose the colors.
In Thailand, the ThaiElephant Conservation Center (TECC) now teaches elephants to paint. They think it might be good for them. Some paintings show real things such as flowers, trees, and even elephants, but according to the TECC, the elephants don’t understand the pictures. They just follow the instructions of their trainers.
But some people think there could be more to it than that. Different elephants have their own painting styles, and their paintings become more detailed over time. For example, an elephant named Ramona may be the most famous elephant in Bali. Many people buy her paintings, and she seems to have an artist’s personality. Ramona likes to work with dark colors. She also stops and looks at a painting carefully before choosing the next color, and she only paints when she wants to paint.

Some vaccines, are given orally.
D. Local pain.
35. Where is the passage most likely taken from
A. an advertisement B. a journal
C. a speech D. a novel
【答案】32. C 33. C 34. D 35. B

67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Throughout our lives, we have encountered a lot of people that have influenced us in some sense. Their effect may be for one day or a lifetime. Often, you don’t realize how much influence someone has made on you until a particular moment. The man who made a big influence on me was my father.
Three months after turning fourteen, my life was great.
注意:
1.续写词数应为 150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
My parents and I hurried to the hospital.

I had to take on so many responsibilities at home.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】My parents and I hurried to the hospital. My dad was taken to the operating room after all kinds of tests, leaving Mom and I waiting anxiously outside. Three hours’ waiting seemed like a life time during which my mother kept comforting me by saying, “Your dad said everything will be just fine!” When the door was pushed open and the doctor told us the good news, my mom burst into tears. Three weeks after that, my dad could leave the hospital, but he still needed extra attention at home, which I was responsible for, since my mom had to work outside every day.
I had to take on so many responsibilities at home. Household chores and the care for my dad took up most of my day, leaving little time for my studies. Though I was tired out every day after attending to my dad, I still tried to squeeze out some precious time to make up for some missing lessons till late night. Every day my dad told me the same thing, “Dear, everything will be just fine!” After six months, my dad made a full recovery and I graduated with the best grades in four years. Time has stolen so much of our family’s happiness, but it’s still the most important.“Dear, everything will be just fine!
