Listen and answer the questions:

Getting Ready

Example

We need to do some exercise every day.

We need to wash our hands before our meals.

Listen again and answer the questions:
1. Does Xiaoli have a serious fever or a small fever
She has a small fever.
She has a bit of a fever.
2. How does the doctor know that she has a fever
The doctor takes her temperature.
3. Why does Xiaoli need a note for school
Because the doctor tells her to stay at home for the next few days.
4. What should Xiaoli do if she wants to make her body strong and keep her away from flu according to the doctor
She should eat lots of fruit and vegetables and exercise every day.
Listen and complete the text message from Xiaoli to her dad.
Dad,I don’t feel well today.I’ve got a headache and a stomachache.And I also have a sore throat and a runny nose,but I haven’t got a cough.So my mum takes me to see a doctor.The doctor asks me some questions first and then she takes my temperature.After that,she tells me that I’ve got a fever,but not very serious.
I have to take some medicine twice a day before meals. Besides, I should get plenty of rest and drink lots of water. Eating lots of fruit and vegetables and doing some exercise every day can also make me strong and keep me away from flu. Don’t worry. I feel much better now, but I hope it is my last time to be a patient at hospital.

What’s the matter with you 相当于What’s wrong with you 两者常用来询问人或事物的异常情况。如:
你的自行车出了什么毛病?

当不跟宾语时,还可说“What’s the matter ”与“What’s wrong ” 意思相同。
还可以说 What’s wrong with him / her
回答:He / She has …
2.I have a headache.我头疼。
have a + (身体某部位的名词 + ache),表示身体某处疼痛
have a stomachache 胃疼
have a backache 背疼
have a toothache 牙疼
3.Do you have a fever 你发烧了吗?
have a cold 患感冒
have a bad cold 患重感冒
have a cough 咳嗽
但“患流感”是have the flu,用定冠词the。
4.You should get plenty of rest.
你应该好好休息。
本句中should作情态动词,用于向他人提出建议,通常用来表示现在或将来的责任或义务,译作“应该、应当”,这时它可以和ought to, be supposed to 互换使用,后面接动词原形。
四、作业
