By analyzing the structure of the text, we can understand the writing intention and genre of the article. Use simple tables and Q&A to help students extract important information. Educate students to learn the spirit of daring to climb new heights and apply it to their learning.

Simply introduce Qomolangma in its geography location; height and environment. Lead students to scan the whole passage and number the paragraphs. Help students to read the statements and get the meanings. Ask students to skim the whole passage and try to match the paragraphs with the main ideas. Check the answers together. Reading To show a simply form on the blackboard,lead students to get the purpose of the items. Ask students to read the passage after the tapes and try to find relative sentences. To choose several students show their answers in front of the class,others check and correct some mistakes. Get students to read the first passage again and try to answer some questions. Check the answers one by one and underline relative sentences.Explain the passage by explain difficult words and expressions. Ask students to list the dangerous for climbers in this paragraph. Ask students to read the second passage quickly and list the three person’s information. Explain the passage in detail and check the answers together.To show some pictures for students to recognize them. Read the last paragraph together and try to answer the two questions on the black board. Check the answers together by circle some key words or phrases. Read after the tapes again for correct pronunciation. Post-reading To show some videos about Chinese scientific research team bravely climbs Mount Everest.
