讲授新课 Teaching the new lesson 新课导入（Lead in） Get students to think about:If the general can find a happy man Encourage students to predict the ending of the story by discuss in groups. Ask several groups to show their answers and give the reasonable endings. Get students to read the possible endings on the textbook and try to get the meanings. Have a discuss about these endings and choose the best one they think. 听力练习（Listening） Get students to read the statements in 1c and try to translate one by one. Play the tapes for the first time to catch the main idea of the second part of the story. Play the tapes for the second time and get students to make the things which will happen. Check the answers together. Ask students to read the questions in 1d and try to answer them by using their own words. Listen to the tapes again and help students to finish the task by using their own words. Ask several students to show their answers on the blackboard and others check it together for correct some mistakes or give a better one. Lead students to retell the whole story. To show a short passage about the whole story and get students to read. To give a words list they may use to fill the blanks and ask students to read and translate into Chinese. Give several minutes to them to complete the passage. Ask students to read the passage sentence by sentence and fill in the words at the same time. Check the answers together.
