Cultural awareness(文化意识): This lesson covers two well-known disasters around the world. Added some humanistic and historical knowledge to the students. We used some pictures and videos to help students recreate the situation of the event, allowing them to empathize with the author. While explaining the text, I also sorted out the basic elements of narrative writing, which improved students' reading ability. Helped review knowledge about tenses.

讲授新课 Teaching the new lesson 阅读训练(Reading) Before reading To show two pictures on the blackboard and lead students to show say the events. Show the picture and video about Martin Luther King and introduce his story. To show a short video about the Word Trade Center in New York was taken down by terrorists. Read the events’ names and try to talk about their views on these events. Fast reading Ask students to scan the whole passage and try to find the two events and their happened time. Lead students to divide the passage into two parts according to the events. To show a simple form on the blackboard,students read the passage as quickly as possible and try to fill in the blanks. Check the answers together and underline some relative sentences. Detail reading Show some questions on the blackboard for students to read the first and second paragraph quickly and find the answers. Give some reading tips before finish the task. Explain this paragraph in detail and try to answer the questions. To show a simple mind map about the third and forth paragraph for students to read and find some phrases. Explain in detail and finish the mind map together. Post reading Read the statements in 2c to get the meanings. Ask students to read the passage again and try to judge them true or false , not given. Check the answers one by one and correct them in detail. To read the sentences in 2d together and translate them into Chinese. Help students to read the passage again and circle the relative sentences according to these parts. Get students to read the questions in 3a and get the meanings. Ask students to fill in the forms by answering these questions. Choose several students to share their works in front of the class. While writing Lead students to read the title in 3b to know what they may hope to do. Lead students to read the given outline on the textbook and catch the details in writing. Help students write a simple outline about their writing. To show some good works on the blackboard for students to learn and talk about. Read the given incomplete simple on the textbook to get the main idea. Give 15minutes to for students to finish their works.
