Hello和Hi一般用在熟人间,比较随意。
STEVEN: How are you today 你今天好吗?
How are you 是最普通的问法,无论何时都可以问对方。
还可以问:(1)How are you doing 有针对性一些,比如对方在干什
么事,或者对方心情很差,可以问:你现在怎么样了啊?
(2)Are you OK (通常看到对方不好的时候问)
(3)Are you all right
(4)How is everything
(5)What’s new 近来如何?
HELEN: I'm very well, thank you. And you
很好,谢谢你。你好吗?
STEVEN: I'm fine, thanks.
很好,谢谢。
How are you是朋友和相识的人见面时关于身体情况的一种寒暄。
And you = And how are you
回答:
1、心情一般时:(1)Just fine, thanks. 还好,谢谢。
(2)All right, and you?还行,你呢?
(3)I’m Ok. 还好!
(4)Same as before. 老样子。
(5)Not bad. 不赖。
(6)Just so so. 不过如此。
(7)Nothing. 没什么。
2、心情很好时:(1)Pretty good, thank you. 非常好。
(2)Great.非常好。
(3)Quite well. 非常好。
(4)Very well. 非常好。
(5)Wonderful. 好极了。
3、心情糟糕时:(1)Pretty bad! 糟透了!
(2)Awful! 糟透了!
How is Tony 托尼好吗?
= How is he
HELEN: He's fine, thanks. 他很好,谢谢。
How's Emma 埃玛好吗?
= How is she
STEVEN: She's very well, too, Helen.
她也很好,海伦。再见,海伦,见到你真高兴。

Nice to meet you. (初次见面时打招呼用语。)
Nice to see you. (相互认识的人见面时打招呼用。)

= Bye! = See you!
美国人见面最常说的就是:How are you 或者 How are you doing 这不是问句,基本上回答:good. 出于礼貌可以回一句:How about you 相熟的人之间也可以问:What’s up 或者What’s new 回答一般就说:Nothing much.都是出于礼貌的客套话。
[语法]
1、特殊疑问句:how构成的特殊疑问句:
与what不同,how 只能作疑问副词。也就是说,它只能单独放在句首构成特殊疑问句。
How are you 你好吗?
How is your daughter 你女儿好吗?
2、形容词的基本用法:
(1)形容词在句中最主要的用法是放在名词或代词的前面,对它们起修饰或限定作用,作定语。它通常用来说明人或事物的质量、大小、新旧、温度、形状、颜色或产地等。比如:
a fine day 一个大晴天 a thin woman 一个瘦女子
an old milkman 一个年老的送牛奶的人
(2)当多个形容词同时修饰一个名词时,其顺序为:大小、长短、形状、新旧、颜色、出处、材料性质等。比如:
a small round table 一张小圆桌
a dirty old brown shirt 一件脏的棕色旧衬衣
an old white wood chair 一件白色的旧木头椅子
(3)形容词也可以在句中放在be动词的后面,作句子的表语。比如:
That mechanic is dirty. 那个机械师很脏。
This nurse is clean. 这个护士很干净。
