Implementation of contract (under CIF term, payment by letter of credit)
Under CIF contract with terms of payment by L/C, the implementation of export contract usually goes through the steps of reminding of L/C, examination and modification of L/C, goods preparation, inspection application, chartering and booking shipping space, insurance, shipment, customs formalities, documents preparation for bank negotiation and settlements of disputes, etc. the flow chart herein.

2.2 Procedures of an import transaction
The business procedure of import trade is also divided into four stages: preparation before the transaction, transaction negotiation and contract conclusion, contract fulfillment and business timely aftermath. The specific contents of them are almost the same as the export trade, such as market research, customers identification, business relations establishment, trade negotiations, signing contracts, etc.. 2.4 Documents in export & import transaction
There are a great variety of documents that may need to be produced to complete export/import transactions; some estimates indicate 200 different documents are used in foreign trade.
