What can you tell a person’s feelings through his/her eyes
There is one language that is used in every country.
It’s easy to understand though you can’t hear it. It’s sign language. It’s everybody’s second language.
When you wave to a friend walking across the street, you’re using sign language. When you smile at someone, you mean “I want to be friendly.”
One finger in front of your mouth can mean “quiet”. Raising your hand in class, maybe you are saying, “I think I know the correct answer.” A policeman holds up his hand to stop a car or a bus. He’s using sign language. Using it, you can talk to people behind a closed window. And when you go swimming with your friends, you can have a conversation under water! Winston Churchill’s famous “V-for-Victory” is sign language too.
Many years ago, a Frenchman called Charles Michel de I’ Epec invented a finger alphabet. With it, the deaf can read and understand others. Today, There are special TV programmes for deaf people using sign language. There are also some theatres for the deaf. Most of the actors working in them are deaf. They play, read poems and dance in sign language.

However, in India and some other Asian countries, people do not touch each other when they meet. Instead, they hold their own hands together and raise them to their faces. The Brazilians and the French greet both men and women with a kiss on each cheek.
