并列复合句是指由并列连词and,but,or等把两个或两个以上的简单句连在一起而构成的句子。
1.并列复合句的构成。
并列复合句的基本结构是：简单句+并列连词+简单句。如：
He studies well and his sister is good at drawing.
他学习好，他姐姐擅长画画。
2.并列连词前后简单句之间的关系。
(1)and 表示并列关系。如：
He gave me a present and I liked it very much.
他给了我一份礼物，我很喜欢。
(2)or表示选择关系。如：
You can dance in the park,or you can run to exercise.
你可以在公园里跳舞，或者你可以跑步锻炼。
(3)but表示转折关系。如：
I am a Chinese, but my husband is from America.
我是个中国人，但我的丈夫来自美国。
注意:but不能与though/although 用在同一个句子中表示“虽然……但是……”，两者只能用其一。
3.使用并列复合句的注意事项
(1)并列复合句有时可以不用连词,而用分号隔开(前后句之间的关系须相当紧密)。
We fished all day;we did not catch a single fish.
(2)并列连词后面的简单句如果与前面的简单句有相同的部分,则相同的部分可省略。
