一、导入新课

Presentation
Look at the pictures. What happened to the girl
Tina's bad morning. She overslept.
Someone was taking a shower.
By the time she went outside, the bus had already left.
Write two true statements and one false statement about your day yesterday. Then ask your classmates to guess the false statement.
1. By the time I left for school in the morning, my classmates had cleaned the classroom.
2. By the end of the school day, I had had six classes.
3. By dinner time, I had eaten three apples.

Review
过去完成时
1. 构成： had+动词的过去分词
2. 表示动作发生的时间是“过去的过去”。可用by, before, 等构成的短语，也可用when, before等引导的从句，或者通过上下文表示。
过去完成时时间状语
（ 1 ） by + 过去的时间点。
（ 2 ） by the end of + 过去的时间点。
（ 3 ） before + 过去的时间点。
（ 4 ）by the time +过去式句子
（ 5 ）在told, said, knew, heard, thought等动词后的宾语从句中, 通常用过去完成时。
过去完成时
概念
过去完成时表示以过去某个时间为标准,在此之前发生的动作或行为, 或在过去某动作之前完成的行为, 即“过去的过去 ”。
构成
过去完成时的基本结构为“助动词had(用于各种人称和数) + 动词的过去分词”；
否定句在had后加not；疑问句则将had提到句首。
I had finished homework by 10:00.
I hadn’t finished homework by10:00.
Had you finished homework by 10:00
Yes , I had. No ,I hadn’t.
时间状语：
（ 1 ） by + 过去的时间点。如：
I had finished reading the novel by nine o'clock last night.
昨天晚上9点之前，我已经完成了作业。
（ 2 ） by the end of + 过去的时间点。如：
We had learned over two thousand English words by the end of last term.
截止到上个学期末我们已经学了2000英语单词
3.before + 过去的时间点。
如：They had planted six hundred trees before last Wednesday.
4. By the time + 句子
By the time I got back to the school,the bell had rung.
特别用法
在told, said, knew, heard, thought等动词后的宾语从句中, 通常用过去完成时。
She said (that) she had never been to Shanghai.
她说她从来没去过上海。

Read Para. 1 and answer the questions below.
1. What time did the writer arrive at World Trade Center on September 11, 2001
He/She arrived at the building at around 8:30 in the morning.
2. What did the writer decide to do first
He/She decided to get a coffee first.
3. How far away was the office place from his office
It was two blocks east from his office.
The first event:
In May 2001,I found a job in New York at the World Trade Center.on Sep.11,2001, I arrived at my building at around 8:30a.m.I was about to go up when I decided to get a coffee first. I went to his favorite coffee place even though it was two blocks east from my office. As I was waiting in line with other office workers. He heard a loud sound.
Before I could join the others outside to see What was going on, the first plane had already hit his office building.
They stared in disbelief at the black smoke rising above the burning building. He felt lucky to be alive.
Read Para. 2 and make the correct order of the following sentences.
1 A.I woke up at 10:00 a.m. on February 21, 2011 and realized that my alarm never went off.
3 B. By the time I got to the airport, my plane to New Zealand had already taken off.
5 C. The next morning, I heard about the earthquake in New Zealand the day before.
4 D. The other planes were full so I had to wait till the next day.
2 E. I jumped out of bed and went straight to the airport.
The second event:
Almost 10 years later, …woke up…
Realized….went off
