高考英语写作——写作论述方式（数据列举）
这种论证方式在阅读中我们已经见过很多次了。通常都是先说一个论点，然后用数据支撑，这是很真实有用的论述方式。在段落扩展中，引用统计数据是论证作者观点的最有效的方法之一。 比如你的观点是：污染很严重。你用数据列举多么生动。百分之多少的人因空气质量问题得什么病，百分之多少的污水都被排放到江河。很多同学会说，我不知道百分比是多少，那你觉得批卷老师知道这个百分比吗？那些阅读中的数据一定是真实准确的吗？我们不知道。
比如以下统计数字的表达方式：
Surveys have shown that almost half of all male high school seniors and nearly 20 percent of all ninth grade boys can be called "problem drinkers" ... Over 5,000 teenagers are killed yearly in auto accidents due to drunken driving.
研究表明，几乎一半的高三男学生（几乎20% 的九年级男孩）都有酗酒习惯……每年有超过 5000 名青少年因为酒驾死于交通事故。 A national survey by the Institute for Social Research of the University of Michigan, in which 17,000 of the nation's 2.7 million high school seniors were questioned about their use of drugs, revealed a continuing downward trend.
一个由密歇根大学社会研究机构组织的国民调查表明，在270 万的高三学生中，有1.7万都被怀疑有吸毒行为，这个趋势呈现持续下降的势头。
According to a recent investigation by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the majority of university students are of the opinion that cooperation is quite essential in both our life and our career. （这个没有使用精确数字）
根据中国社会科学院最近的一项调查，大部分的大学生都认为无论在我们的生活还是工作中，合作都是重要的。
数据列举常用的表达是：

统计数据表明，销售额比去年增加了 30%。
在数据列举的时候，如果能用到下面的专业表达，其真实性也进一步增加了。
（1）增加数字主要有以下几种表达方式，注意翻译的意思。
①表示两倍，一般用 twice 或 double。
Twice
Twice as much/many as... 是…的两倍（比……大一倍)
Twice as large as... （意思同上）
Twice larger than... （意思同上）
Double
Be the double of... （意思同上）
The statistics showed that there existed postgraduates who could persist reading at least 10 year twice as large as those who fail to enjoy reading books.
统计数据表明，每年坚持读至少十本书的研究生是那些不喜欢读书的同学的两倍。
②表示三倍或三倍以上一般用数词加 times 或-fold
Times
Increase by 5 times 增加了5倍（增加到6倍）
Increase to 6 times 增加到6倍（增加了5倍）
6 times larger/greater than... 增加到6倍（增加了5倍）
Fold
Increase fivefold （意思同上）
（2）减少数字主要有以下几种表达方式，注意翻译的意思。
Reduce to 30% 下降到 30%
Reduced by 30% 下降了 30%
Reduce to 1/3 减少到 1/3（减少了 2/3)
Reduce by 2/3 减少了2/3（减少到 1/3）
1/3 as large as... 为…的 1/3
smaller than... 为…的 1/3
