1. At the moment, Mike and Clare are in Cairo in Egypt, one of the biggest and busiest cities in Africa.

one of常见用法：
(1) one of+名词复数，谓语动词用单数。
(2) one of+形容词最高级+名词复数，谓语动词用单数。

2. They have been to many interesting places.
他们去过很多有趣的地方。
have/has been to 表示“已经去过某地”
have/has gone to 表示“已经去了某地”
例如：
I have been to Shanghai.
我已经去过上海了。（此时已经回来了）
She has gone to Shanghai.
她已经去上海了。（此时已经在去上海的路上或已经到达上海）
Language points
3. This language is different from English in many ways, and they find it hard to spell and pronounce the words.
这种语言（阿拉伯语）和英语有很大不同，拼写和发音对他们来说都很难。
(1) be different from意为“与……不同”。
例如：
我的两个儿子一点儿都不像。
My two sons are very different from each other.
