Teaching Steps【教学步骤】
Step1. Warming-up and Lead in
1. Greet the Ss and check the homework.
2. Watch a video program about the weather.
Step 2 Leading in【情景导入】
(Show some pictures of the weather)
Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is.
Ss learn the new words and expressions with the help of the pictures.
Step 3 Pre-task【准备任务】
Page 37, 1a
Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the right.
Ask the Ss to match the words with pictures.
Check the answers.
Page 37, 1b
T: Now let's look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me.
Ss read the cities after the teacher.
T: Now, We’ll hear four conversations. Listen carefully, point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape.
Play the recording a second time. Ask Ss to write the name of the city in the picture of its weather.
3. Check the answers.

T: If you are in one of the places in the picture above. Talk about the weather withyour friends in another city on the phone.

T: Let's see what Joe's families are doing. Point to the 4 pictures.
1. Ask Ss tell each person is doing in each picture. More attentions should be paid
to the correct use of the Present Progressive Tense.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the pictures [1-4].
3. Play the tape for Ss to check the answers.
4. With the whole picture, get some Ss to tell the story of it.

1. How’s the weather in Shanghai 上海的天气怎么样?
weather是不可数名词,weather forecast意为“天气预报”。
I usually walk, but this morning I took a bus because of the
bad weather.
The weather forecast says there will be rain tomorrow.

【拓展】询问天气的句型
“How’s the weather(+ 时间/地点状语) ”意为“(某时/某地的)天气怎么样?”,用来询问天气,同义句为“What’s the weather like(+时间/地点状语) ”。答语常为“(It’s+)表示天气状况的形容词.”或“It’s + v-ing.”。
—How’s the weather in Beijing 北京的天气怎么样?
—Sunny./It’s sunny. 天气晴朗。
2. It’s raining! 天在下雨!(教材P37 标题)
(1) rain在此作动词,意为“下雨”,raining是其动词-ing形式。
It often rains in summer. 夏天经常下雨。
It’s raining in Guangzhou. 广州正在下雨。
(2) rain还可作不可数名词,意为“雨水”。the rains表示“雨季”。
There is a lot of rain here every year。这里每年雨水都很多。
【拓展】rain的形容词为rainy(多雨的),可作定语和表语。
It was rainy yesterday. 昨天下雨了。(作表语)
I love rainy weather. 我喜欢雨天。(作定语)
3. Aunt Sally is cooking. 萨莉婶婶在做饭。 (教材P38 2b)
cook /k k/ v. 做饭
My grandma is cooking. 我奶奶正在做饭。
【拓展】
(1) cook还可作及物动词,意为“烹饪”,其后可接双宾语,cook sb. sth. = cook sth. for sb., 意为“为某人做……(饭)”。
She cooks delicious food for her family every day.
= She cooks her family delicious food every day.
(2) cook也可作名词,意为“厨师”。
My father is a wonderful cook! 我爸爸是一个很不错的厨师!
(3) cooker作可数名词,意为“厨灶;炉具”。
We want to buy a gas cooker. 我们想买一个燃气灶。
4.—How's it going 近来可好
—Not bad, thanks. 不错,谢谢。
How's it going 是用来询问对方近况,可意为“情况怎么样?/最近怎么样?/一切还好吗?”。 后面可跟介词短语with sb./sth.
该句型的答语常用:
Pretty good!相当不错!
Great!很好!
Not bad! 还不错!
Terrible!很糟糕!
Just so so.一般般。
Everything goes well.一切进展顺利。
5. Sounds like you're having a good time. 听起来你玩得很开心。
1)本句是一个省略句,相当于It sounds like… sound like意为“听起来像”,后接名词、 代词或句子。
例:那听起来像是个好主意。 It sounds like a good idea.
2)have a good time意为“玩得开心;过得快乐”。
同义短语还有have fun, have a great time等。
常用短语:have a good time doing sth.做某事开心
例:他们正玩得高兴。
They are having a good time.=They are having fun.= They are having a great time.
6. Can I take a message for him 我可以为他捎个口信吗?
take a message意为“捎个口信”,后常与介词for搭配,构成:take a message for sb.“给某人捎个口信”。
例:我能给你捎个口信。I can take a message for you.

Advantages(亮点):本课时从实际生活引入课题,以旧知识引出新知识,由旧导新,层层递进,学生易于接受。结合听说训练、对话表演,强化了学生的口头表达能力。
Disadvantages(不足):本课容量较大,在记单词和巩固单词的课堂设计中,通过课上的学习和操练,学生能做到熟练拼读,但是达到准确默写并掌握,还需多加理解和记忆。
Advice(建议):1. 本节课容量大,词汇较多,为保证教学目标的顺利达成,需要提前安排学生进行充分的预习,至少通读词汇,能根据音标认读单词。要注意评价手段的运用,对学习小组及时评价,以保证学生旺盛的积极性。
