制作马来西亚黄面的工艺极其讲究，操作也非常不易。拉面师傅双手舞动一块淡黄色的面团，时而抻拉成长条状，时而旋转拧成麻花状，象变戏法一样，将一团足有七、八斤重的面团拉成一把细粉丝样的面条。下锅煮熟的黄面丝色黄晶亮，可乘热拌菜食之。吃起来开胃去腻，清热解烦。
