Unit 6 I’m watching TV. Section A 1a-2c(教学设计)
教材分析 This lesson is the listening and speaking part of Section A. 【What】The conversations are talking about what people are doing. 【Why】Students can use these key words and sentences to talk about what people are doing in daily life. 【How】Students can extract key information from the recording by locating key words.
学生分析 Junior One students have learnt the present progressive tense in the primary school and mastered some words and expressions about this tense. They know how to describe the tense simply, but they still have difficulty in using this tense to speak well by looking at the pictures in the oral English test. Besides, they show great interest in English.
教学目标 Language ability: (1) Students are able to master the following words and phrases: newspaper, soup, exercising, making soup, reading a newspaper, using the computer, washing the dishes, listening to a CD, talking on the phone. (2) Students are able to use the following sentence patterns: -What are you/they doing -I am/They are cleaning. -What is he/she doing -He/She is exercising. Thinking capacity: think accordingly when watching videos and pictures to improve the ability of observation and critical thinking. Cultural awareness: Students can discover what is happening in life, cooperate with others and love our lives. Students can cherish the current time and work hard for their dreams. Learning ability: Students are able to master the usage of the present progressive tense and use the tense to talk about what is going on or happening. (1) To train students’ ability of speaking skill. (2) To develop the students’ sense of competition. (3) To foster students’ abilities of communication and their innovation.
教学重难点 Teaching key points: Students can master vocabulary and use various phrases to describe specific actions, such as: doing homework, using the computer, watching TV, eating dinner temple. Teaching difficult points: Students can use the present progressive tense accurately in communication to describe or express what is happening.

Lead-in (3 mins) T shows Ss a video and asks Ss to think about the sentence patterns in the video. Ss watch the video and share their ideas. To get the students engaged in the class with the video about.

Pre-listening (7 mins) New words T shows students the new words and phrases in the picture. Ss learn to read the new words and phrases and match the words and phrases with pictures. To introduce the new words to Ss.
Activities Match and say Say the activities according to different pictures Ss match the phrases about daily activities with pictures. To help Ss practice new words through the activity. Thus students are able to finish 1a.
1a T asks Ss to finish 1a and check their answers. Ss finish 1a and match the activities with the pictures. To finish 1a.
效果评价 学生是否能够掌握日常活动类相关短语。
While listening (15 mins) 1b T plays the tape and asks Ss to finish 1b. Ss listen to the tape and write the numbers from 1a. Ss need to think what these people are doing. To improve Ss’ ability of listening.
1c T plays the tape again and asks Ss to repeat the conversations they hear. Ss listen to the tape again and then repeat the conversations with their partners. Repetition strengthen Ss’ ability of listening and speaking.
2a T plays the tape and asks Ss to match the answers with the questions. Ss listen and match the answers with the questions. To finish 2a and prepare for 2b.
2b T plays the tape and asks Ss to fill in the blanks. Ss listen and fill in the blanks in 2b. To listen and learn about key sentences in 2b.
效果评价 学生在听力过程中能够抓住关键词,准确完成听力任务; 学生是否能够模仿和复述录音原文。
Answer the questions Use information in 2b to answer two questions. Ss answer questions according to 2b. To have a better understanding of 2b.
Role-play Use information in 2b make conversations. Ss make conversations with partners according to 2b. To offer a good chance to employ key sentences.
效果评价 学生是否能在积极主动地与同伴进行对话练习; 学生是否能够运用1c和2c的句型编写对话。
Language points (2 mins) T presents the language points in today’s class. Present Progressive Tense Ss follow T to review language points. Present Progressive Tense To help Ss to review and summarize language points in today’s class.
效果评价 学生是否能够在老师的引导下总结出主要语言点,会应用现在进行时造句。
Exercise (5 mins) T asks Ss to finish the exercises. Ss finish the exercises. To check Ss’ understanding of today’s class.

Summary (2 mins) T and Ss make a summary of today’s class together. To help students summarize and review today’s class.
效果评价 学生是否能与老师一起总结出今日所学知识。
Homework (1 min) 1. Memorize the new words and phrases in 1a. 2. Make sentences with the structure of the Present Continuous Tense. 3. Preview 2d after class. To consolidate what Ss have learned in the class.
