讲授新课 Step1: Words egret / i ɡr t/ n.白鹭 eastern / i st n/ adj.东方的；东部的 shy / a / adj.害羞的 tightly / ta tl / adv.紧紧地；牢固地 tight-tightly The young mother hugged his son _______ (tight) when she found his son was safe. fossil / f sl/ n.化石 southern / sa θ‘west/ n. & adj.西南（的） living / l v / adj.活着的 Step2: Warm-up: Lead students to know some amazing plants. Step 3：Listening Task 1)Listen and number the sentences. □When you touch this kind of plant, it closes up tightly. □This plant can live as long as 1 500 years. It really is a fossil. □Look at these flowers! They look like flying egrets! □This amazing tree laughs when the wind blows. Step 4:Reading Task Read and match them with the pictures. Step 5: Read and Act Step 6： Reading Task. Read the lesson and fill in the table. (Let’s Do It) Step 7 Language Points When it comes to laughing，this tree is really funny. “When it comes to…”，意为“当说到……话题时，就……而论”。其中to是介词，后面可接名词、代词、动名词，不可接动词原形。 2.alive adj. 活着的，有生气的 既可指人，也可指物，可作表语或后置定语。 The artist is still alive. He is the greatest man alive. living 活着的，健在的 既可指人, 也可指物, 在句中可作表语或前置定语。 These are all living fish.
