教学目标:
By the end of this period,students will be able to:
1.Have a better understanding of the good acts and recommend the “Person of the Year”;
2.Describe their achievements and personal qualities,then give your recommendation reasons;
3.Express themselves in an appropriate and logical way,and give a presentation after completing group work.
教学重难点:
Instruct students to give presentations in a logical manner and conduct peer assessments on each other’s work.

Step Ⅰ Lead-in
Look at the pictures and focus on the title of Time magazine.
Step Ⅱ Preparation
Activity 1 Brainstorming
Think of someone you want to recommend as“Person of the Year”.You can choose a well-known person or someone you plete the form about the person.

Activity 2 Group work
Work in groups.Talk about your “Person of the Year” and choose the best one in your group.Use the information in Activity 1 and the expressions in the box to help you.

教学反思:
本板块要求学生理解“年度人物”的基本内涵和评选标准,训练学生的表达能力。鼓励他们推选出自己心目中的“年度人物”。“年度人物”可以选择名人或者自己身边熟悉的人。请学生按照要求填写人物信息表,然后在小组内协商选择出本组推荐人物,最后在班级内分享本组推选出的“年度人物”。同时,Reflection板块引导学生回顾本单元所学知识,及时对自己的学习行为和效果做出有效评估判断。
